Bosch had a tremendously successful seven-year run, airing 7 seasons and 68 episodes on Amazon from February 6, 2014, to June 25, 2021. Although it's been a while since the detective drama concluded, its reign continues through streaming and its spin-offs, one of which — Ballard — is still ongoing. Not long after Bosch ended in 2021, Netflix launched a similarly compelling alternative, The Lincoln Lawyer, which, like the Amazon favorite, is inspired by the iconic Michael Connelly's works. That series returned for Season 4 only a month ago and has now released an exciting update amid anticipation for its next season.

On March 17, 2026, Netflix announced that production had officially begun on The Lincoln Lawyer Season 5. A premiere date hasn't been announced, but reports confirm that the legal drama has finally revealed plot details and recruited a High Potential favorite for the new season. Steve Howey is the new addition, and he will recur as Brian Cunningham, the only disclosed detail about his character. Howey, well known for his stint on Shameless, joined High Potential Season 2 last year as Nick Wagner, the new captain of the station.

Alongside the TV icon, Netflix also shared more names tapped to join The Lincoln Lawyer's next season. They include Chris Diamantopoulos as Frank Silver, Corbin Bernsen as Richard Finch, Diane Guerrero as Natalia, Iker Garcia as Rafa Wagner, Patty Guggenheim as Allison Finch, Richard Cabral as Benny Perez, and Teresa Maria as Tina Perez. Additionally, Cobie Smulders, who appeared in the show's Season 4 finale, has been upped to a series regular. Smulders portrays Artemisia "Emi" Finch, a woman who claims to be Mickey Haller's long-lost sister.

'The Lincoln Lawyer' Returns With a Higher-Stakes Season 5

Similar to its previous seasons, the Bosch replacement will consist of 10 episodes, inspired by Resurrection Walk, the seventh book in Connelly's The Lincoln Lawyer book series. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo will return as Mickey Haller in the upcoming season alongside Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson. To give fans an inkling of what Season 5 will focus on, Netflix teased:

Mickey Haller’s world is upended when the half-sister he never knew existed, Emi, comes to him with a plea to help free a wrongfully convicted woman. In a season defined by blood ties and buried secrets, Mickey takes on a grueling habeas petition to overturn a six-year-old murder conviction, but the deeper he digs, the more nefarious the forces arrayed against him become. Meanwhile, the stakes rise for his trusted team as Lorna, Izzy, and Cisco step up to tackle high-profile challenges of their own.

All four seasons of The Lincoln Lawyer are on Netflix. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.
