Netflix is back with another animated fantasy adventure in Swapped, and critics are quite split.
Helmed by Tangled co-director Nathan Greno on a story he developed with writers John Whittington (Sonic the Hedgehog 3) and DuckTales alum Christian Magalhaes and Robert Snow, the film centers on Ollie and Ivy, members of naturally opposing mammal and bird races, as they find a set of magic pods that transform them into each other's race. The film features a star-studded cast led by Michael B. Jordan as Ollie and Juno Temple as Ivy, as well as Cedric the Entertainer, Tracy Morgan and Justina Machado.
In time for its May 1 limited theatrical release and streaming premiere, reviews have begun rolling out for Swapped, earning it a debut Rotten Tomatoes score. With 10 reviews calculated at the time of writing, the animated fantasy adventure is sitting with a narrowly Fresh approval rating of 60%, indicating a very divisive response to the movie.
