While All Of Us Are Dead only has one season so far, the action series is still one of Netflix’s best horror shows ever. There are some truly great Netflix horror shows, from the anthology series Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities to Mike Flanagan’s masterpiece The Haunting of Hill House. However, these two critically acclaimed hits have more than just their shared genre in common.

All Of Us Are Dead Is An Action-Packed Zombie Series

In a daring choice, All Of Us Are Dead’s story centers not on the teachers of the show’s high school setting, but the students. Outside a handful of older characters, like Lee Kyu-hyung’s sympathetic detective Song Jae-ik and Kim Byung-chul’s treacherous science teacher Lee Byeong-chan, the kids are the show’s true protagonists.

All Of Us Are Dead jumps between the viewpoints of various students as they avoid infection and try to understand the zombie outbreak occurring around them. Every classic high school character can be found in the series, from the class president to the privileged rich kid to the dangerous juvenile delinquent.

All Of Us Are Dead Is One Of Many Great Korean Zombie Productions

However, viewers should not go into All Of Us Are Dead expecting a playful horror comedy like Netflix’s superficially similar teen zombie series Daybreak. On the contrary, the South Korean series is unremittingly bleak, and many of All Of Us Are Dead’s best characters die during its devastating single-season story.

In this regard, the show has a lot in common with similarly hard-hitting South Korean zombie dramas like Train to Busan and Sweet Home. Violent, propulsive, and unpredictable, All Of Us Are Dead is a dark zombie horror that gets just as grim as The Walking Dead, but moves far faster as it pitilessly cuts through its cast of characters.

All Of Us Are Dead Season 2 Is Probably Not Coming In 2026

The plot of All Of Us Are Dead makes the earlier American horror show seem downright sentimental by comparison, but a few characters do live to see the end of the series. Given the universal critical acclaim the show enjoyed upon the release of its first season, it should come as no surprise that All Of Us Are Dead season 2 was soon announced.

However, the show didn’t enter production for years, and All Of Us Are Dead season 2 wasn't included in Netflix's 2026 K-Content slate. As such, it seems like the show’s sophomore season won’t arrive in 2026, even though a 2026 release date previously seemed likely judging by the show's production schedule.

This is a brutal blow for fans who have waited four long years between seasons, and who will now have to face a five-year wait before season 2’s arrival. At this rate, the surviving characters of All Of Us Are Dead will be in a completely different life stage by season 2, meaning Netflix’s zombie drama may have a hard time winning back viewers.
