Netflix has shared the exciting news that Bridgerton is returning with a special spin-off series based on the family matriarch Lady Violet.
Going back in time, the series will follow Lady Violet in her younger years as she enjoys a steamy romance with Viscount Edmund Bridgerton.
Viewers will see a different side of Lady Violet, who is played by Ruth Gemmell, as we see her life before she became a mother to the eight Bridgerton children.
Announcing the news on Instagram, the producers penned: 'Dear Gentle Reader, This author writes to you with most exciting news...
'The time has come for us to turn our attention to the Matriarch of our beloved Bridgertons.
'A new series, chronicling the romance of a young Violet and Viscount Edmund Bridgerton, is underway.

In the previous series the role of the young Lady Violet has been played by Connie Jenkins-Greig, but it is not known if she will reprise the role for the spin-off.
Fans were overjoyed with the news as they took to the comments to share their joy.

Bridgerton, based on Julia Quinn's book of the same name, first hit our screens in 2020.
There have been four successful series since then, with the latest airing earlier this year in January.
Meanwhile Bridgerton is set to kick off season five with Francesca and Michaela Stirling leading the Netflix hit's first ever lesbian romance.
In an official announcement back in March, they shared a clip of Francesca Stirling (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza) looking very cosy.
In the clip, the pair can be seen looking out into beautiful scenery, before smiling at each other and edging closer to hold hands.
