Melbourne influencer reveals how 'BFG' Married At First Sight groom Dave Hand saved her in the street when she got harassed - as viewers go wild over the two-metre tall tradie

Married At First Sight groom Dave Hand captured the love of the nation with his heart of gold when he stepped onto Australian screens on Tuesday night.

And it seems the 'TikTok tradie', 36, who stands at a whopping 6'7" tall, is just as sweet in real life, as one influencer has come forward with an astounding story about how he rescued her 'in the street'.

Melbourne-based Teri Kearns revealed on Instagram while watching Dave's episode that the towering, tatted-up tradie saved her from a man who was 'harassing' her.

'I met Dave because I was getting harassed by a man in the street and he came up and pretended to know me and got rid of him,' Teri wrote.

She was so grateful for the rescue and enamoured by Dave's kindness that the pair became fast friends.

Sharing a photo of the pair posing with bright smiles on the beach in their athleisure wear, Teri revealed the pair started 'doing 75 hard together' after the incident.

The 75 Hard Challenge is a 75-day fitness program which claims to improve participants' physical fitness, emotional resilience and mental insight.

Teri's tale of heroics about Dave came just as MAFS viewers flocked to X—formerly known as Twitter—to gush over the two-metre tall tradie.

'Dave reminds me of the BFG,' one person wrote, referencing the children's movie big Friendly Giant which is about a giant who was outcast for being too kind.

'Dave crying and FaceTiming his dad has me in my FEELS. Please someone hug that tree of a man, he is HURTING,' said another.

A third commented, 'Dave I'm gonna fall in love with you now too,' alongside a series of crying emojis. 

'Dave's a sweetheart,' one user noted, as someone else agreed: 'I really like Dave he is so sweet.'

'Nawww Dave's and Jamie's mum so sweet together—and Dave's speech—such a refreshing change from other groom's speeches,' a user wrote.

Another proclaimed: 'Dave is my new favourite!'

Some fumed that Dave was too sweet to be matched up with his larger-than-life bride Jamie, who he immediately hit it off with. 

'Groom Dave is seriously hot, and he's been mismatched with that bunny boiler? Hope I'm wrong but sheesh,' they said.

Another added: 'I don't know if Dave is thinking about running away or just closing her [Jamie's] mouth with his massive hands.'

'Dave... run,' a third commented, as someone else said: 'I hope Jamie looks at Dave the way she looks at coconut water.'

Others were concerned Dave was too good to be true, with one viewer commenting: 'Dave seems so sweet pls don't trick us.' 

Tuesday's episode of Married At First Sight had fans swooning as Greek pocket rocket Jamie Marinos, 28, tied the knot with two-metre tall tattooed tradie Dave.

Dave, known as the gentle giant with a shy and reserved demeanour, was hoping for a confident bride who could bring him out of his shell.

Enter Jamie, a bubbly and bold bride who instantly injected personality and humour into their wedding day.

As Jamie walked down the aisle, her excitement was palpable.

The moment she spotted Dave's tattoos, she let out a scream that had the entire wedding party in stitches.

'Is that a neck tatt?' she yelled before Dave even had the chance to turn around.

Without missing a beat, she added, 'Sorry, Dad,' as her family and friends erupted in laughter.

When the pair finally came face-to-face, it was clear the experts had nailed the match.

'Oh my god! And you're tall!' Jamie exclaimed, immediately approving of Dave's towering physique. 'Dad, this is great. Sold! Sold! Sold!'

Dave was equally taken with Jamie, describing her as 'stunning' with 'beautiful eyes.'

The two quickly bonded over their mutual love for tattoos, with Jamie gushing, 'When he turned around, and you could see the tats, automatically I was like, tick. His physique, tick. And then he smiled—nice teeth. Tick. God, okay, yep.'

Dave, who admitted he was nervous about being matched, said Jamie's energy put him at ease.

'She's quirky. She made me feel comfortable, which is cool. I'm very stoked, very, very happy.'

Jamie's larger-than-life personality was on full display, even down to her nails.

When Dave commented on her unique manicure, Jamie declared, 'Trash bag nails. These are me being a wife. That's a piece of me right there!'

The wedding was filled with laughter, chemistry, and banter, setting the stage for what could be one of the most entertaining relationships of the season.

As Dave summed it up perfectly, 'I must admit when I found out there was a match for me, I was genuinely shocked. 

'Either they found someone as crazy as I am, or this could actually work.'
