Oscars 2026: Chase Infiniti Pitches ‘One Battle After Another’ Sequel With Costar Teyana Taylor
Paul Thomas Anderson’s movie won one trophy after another.
Indeed, the One Battle After Another writer, director and producer took home the prize for Best Picture at the 2026 Oscars, hosted by Conan O’Brien at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood March 15. (See all the winners here.)
And no one was happier for him than his life partner Maya Rudolph, who clasped her hands in front of her face and beamed. Paul handed Maya the trophy he'd won earlier in the night for Best Director before he went up to the stage to speak.
“We're happy to be part of this a wonderful, wonderful journey with our fellow nominees, our fellow filmmakers, our fellow filmmakers that even weren't recognized by the Academy,” Paul said in his speech. “There's so many great films this year.”
The 55-year-old—who shares kids Pearl, 20, and Lucille, 16, Jack, 14, and Minnie, 12, with Maya—also paid tribute to his stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro—all of whom were nominated for Oscars—as well as newcomer Chase Infiniti.

But at the end of the day, Leo—who was nominated for Best Actor alongside Michael B. Jordan for Sinners, Timothée Chalamet for Marty Supreme, Wagner Moura for The Secret Agent and Ethan Hawke for Blue Moon—attributed the film’s success to his director.
"None of this would have been possible without Paul's vision, dedication, and belief in this film," he continued. "He brought to life a complex story that feels deeply relevant to the world we’re living in, and I’m honored the Academy has recognized it in this moment."
