Maya Hawke Marries Christian Lee Hutson in Valentine's Day Ceremony
Married life is no strange thing.
Just under one month since Maya Hawke and Christian Lee Hutson tied the knot in a Valentine’s Day ceremony in New York City, the Stranger Things star revealed that so far, life as a married couple has been “absolutely fantastic.”
"I'm a very, very lucky person who's very happy right now," Maya added to People at the premiere of her new movie Wishful Thinking March 12. "And yeah, couldn't be more grateful."
She added to Page Six at the event, “I feel so lucky to have found my best friend and to have someone I can tell anything to.”
Since Maya and Christian took their yearslong friendship into romantic territory while working on her 2024 album Chaos Angel, the pair have kept their relationship out of the spotlight—which is why it shouldn’t have come as a total surprise to fans when the first news they received that the pair were headed for marriage occurred on the same day they said, “I do,” on Valentine’s Day.
For the occasion, the bride wore a white wedding dress with a ball gown silhouette, lace veil, and feathery white coat, as seen in photos obtained by the outlet. Christian, meanwhile, opted for a classic black tuxedo with a white shirt and vest along with a floral boutonniere.
In attendance at their wedding were Maya’s parents Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, as well as many of her Netflix costars, including Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink and Finn Wolfhard.

Prior to their nuptials, the only confirmation they shared that they’d quietly become engaged occurred in 2025 when an interviewer referred to Maya as Christian’s fiancée and he replied simply, “Yeah.”
As for Maya, while she, too, has kept her relationship largely out of the limelight, she did share a sweet glimpse into how Chrisitan came to be her perfect partner.
“I cannot recommend highly enough dating your friends,” she said during an appearance on The Zach Sang Show in 2024. “It's the best. They know you, they understand that you are a person and a human being who has dated other people, who has feelings and is a living breathing human.”

And making their partnership even more magical was being able to collaborate musically.
“To feel seen in that way, to feel like someone you're falling in love with can help you work on a song about a time you were in love with somebody else,” she said, “it's pretty freaking awesome.”
