Viewers of the finale of BBC’s hit show Celebrity Traitors were left aghast on Friday night. After seemingly growing close during the series, YouTuber King Kenny – real name Kenny Oghenovo Ojuederie – turned on his teammate Maya Jama and banished her to protect himself.
But this weekend, five months after the show was filmed, the pair appear to have buried any hatchet. On Saturday morning Kenny, 29, was seen sneaking out of Maya’s £1.5million north London flat having watched the finale alongside the very woman he’d betrayed in front of 11.9million viewers.
In fact he stayed at the Love Island host’s home for a couple of nights – though sources say it was just on the sofa.
On Saturday night, Maya threw a Halloween party in Shoreditch’s 83 Rivington Street and, surprise, surprise, Kenny was in attendance.
While Maya transformed herself into the Olympic gold medallist, Sir Mo Farah, complete with goatee, bald cap, running vest and shorts, Kenny arrived in a more toned-down orange jumpsuit for the party.
Maya’s team have yet to put any denial on the record, but sources close to her insist the pair are not dating but have been friends for years. This is, however, at odds with what is being seen as of late.
Indeed many believe it was inevitable that they would get together.
When a cloaked Maya Jama chose Kenny as the third Traitor to stand alongside her and comedian James Acaster on the hit BBC series, the show’s producers were no doubt delighted.

Maya was newly single, and Kenny was funny, popular and handsome – all the attributes to mend a girl’s broken heart.
So when, on Maya’s request, the newly recruited Kenny was pulled into the turret in Scotland’s Ardross Castle – where the Traitors were filmed plotting their murders – Maya could barely hide her excitement that she would be spending more time with him.
‘We’d all recruit the eye candy,’ a source close to the show said. ‘And it worked. They were spending a lot of alone time together night after night up in the turret, on and off camera, particularly after James [Acaster] left. It’s no surprise their feelings grew for one another, particularly in such an intense environment as Traitors.’
Filming was even more isolating for Maya, who, behind the scenes, was dealing with the end of an 18-month relationship with the Manchester City star, Ruben Dias, 29.
Sources close to the actress have said the split left her ‘devastated’ as she was ‘planning a future’ with the top footballer before he called it quits in April.
Friends have told me that the show’s strict phone ban gave Maya a much-needed social media detox and helped her come to terms with her breakup. She was not allowed to ‘wallow’, constantly checking his social media, and the experience ‘put a smile back on her face’.
Another tonic for her broken heart, insiders say, was the presence of the good-looking former boxer and internet star, King Kenny, in the star-studded line-up.
The friend continued: ‘Going on the Traitors was perfect timing for Maya... for several reasons.’
The pair have known each other for some time, with Maya first appearing in a YouTube video with Kenny’s content creator group, The Beta Squad, in 2022. However, the question of a romantic relationship has always been off the cards.
The Love Island presenter is rarely without a boyfriend, having also been in an on-again-off-again relationship with the Grammy Award-winning rapper Stormzy until two years ago.
So, when the newly single Maya chose Kenny to join her as a Traitor, I am told, producers were ‘rubbing their hands in glee’.
A BBC source said: ‘The Traitors has never had an on-screen romance before and so there was no way their flirty moments were going to be cut out of the edit.
‘With them the series got the whole package – funny, tense, upsetting, moving and romantic and from the very first moments they were delivering.’
When Kenny first learned that Maya and James Acaster, 41, were the Traitors, he grabbed hold of her arm and pulled her into a long, awkwardly over-affectionate embrace. His greeting for the comedian was a more restrained tap on the hand.

So careful were show bosses not to edit out intimate moments that viewers quickly picked up on the pair’s lingering looks and chemistry throughout the series.
Their attempts to keep not only their identities as Traitors a secret, but also the depth of their attachment to one another meant they were also caught out by their celebrity castmates.
While driving to a mission with Romesh Ranganathan, 48, and Sebastian ‘Bash’ Croft, 24, the series’ eventual winners, Kenny raised the prospect of Maya deceiving him.
Posing as a Faithful, he said: ‘If Maya is a Traitor, I will never look at her the same way.’
Romesh immediately replied: ‘Well, first of all, I don’t believe that for a second,’ which sent all three men into fits of laughter.
Kenny did little to dispel the speculation of his feelings towards Maya later in the episode when the contestants were asked to work in pairs during the ‘field of screams’ mission.
After Maya chose him as her partner, he replied: ‘My lovely darling.’
Now the series is over, sources seem keen to play down their relationship. But Maya and Kenny can’t seem to disguise how much they like each other.
Even their highly controlled social media accounts are making no secret of their togetherness.
On Friday’s finale night, Kenny posted a selfie of himself reacting to his Traitors loss, and in the background, the white curtains of Maya’s London pad are visible.
On the same night, Maya shared a video of herself watching the show come to a close, and the same drapery can be seen.
It seems this year’s Traitors are not so deceptive after all.
