May 28 Is Going To Be A Great Day For Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass is getting a huge day-one release on May 28 that you may not be aware of, especially in light of the recent release of Forza Horizon 6 as a day-one title on the catalog. There’s a lot going on with the subscription lately, with tons of new games arriving for free for members. Earlier this month, Xbox Game Pass added a 100-hour award-winning RPG to its catalog, for example, and even if it wasn’t a day-one release, its arrival shook the subscription service.

This comes on top of recent successes, too. Vampire Crawlers, the spin-off of the highly popular Vampire Survivors, also joined the catalog this month and instantly had players hooked with its roguelike deck-building gameplay. Xbox Game Pass received a 2026 GOTY contender, too, significantly improving the quality of the service’s catalog for members – mind you, these two last games were also day-one additions. Despite how great things are going, there’s actually still a lot more to come.

Arriving among the several new Xbox Game Pass freebies in May is a day-one release called Crashout Crew. The new title will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PC, handheld devices, and via cloud gaming. Because it is a day-one release, its availability on the service is limited to the Ultimate and PC Game Pass tiers. While it may seem like another party game that you could skip, there is a lot of potential with this title.

This is because Crashout Crew is the newest project developed by Aggro Crab, the studio behind Peak, one of the best games of 2025 – or, at the very least, one of its most popular ones. In Crashout Crew, you’ll be controlling a forklift expert working at a shipping warehouse. Your job, alongside your friends, will be to “fulfill orders of increasingly chaotic, physics-based boxes.”

Crashout Crew supports up to four players in online co-op multiplayer, and a lot of chaos will occur during matches. The title is expected to become a superb co-op party game to the likes of Overcooked, as you’ll be fighting against time to get orders out correctly and before they expire, but on wheels across a larger arena with physics playing in your favor (or against you).

While the gameplay style will vary a lot from its predecessor, Peak, you can expect its quirkiness and humor to spread as you rush your forklift across the warehouse trying to pack the order and ship it. Crashout Crew will have crossplay between Steam and Xbox. This will allow Xbox Game Pass members to play it for free alongside friends who pay for the game on PC, for example.
