Little People... Big World feud erupts between patriarch Matt Roloff and son Jacob over plans to sell iconic Oregon farm

Little People, Big World star Jacob Roloff is embroiled in a feud with his father Matt over plans to sell the family's beloved farm in Helvetia, Oregon.

Patriarch Matt Roloff, 65, then-wife Amy, 64, and their four children burst on to the scene in 2006 in the hit series which looked at the challenges of being a little person in a world in which they are smaller than average.

While the TLC show ended after 25 seasons in 2024, youngest child Jacob, now 29, had disappeared from the spotlight years beforehand, leaving the series in 2016 aged 18, ditching the farm, and marrying his girlfriend, Isabel, in 2019.

Amid a turbulent few years for Jacob, in which he revealed he had been molested by a producer as a child and publicly claimed he was unfairly compensated for his time on the show, Jacob and Isabel made the decision to return to the farm ahead of the birth of their son, Matteo, now four.

They agreed with Matt they would rent a home on the 109-acre Roloff Farms estate, with Jacob earning a wage to tend to the property, while Isabel would care for the animals – a process that went well until they say Matt informed them he was to sell the farm.

Isabel told People: 'We see land as such a precious thing. We’ve been so grateful to live here, so we just feel devastated. We’re still hoping for a miracle.'

Jacob has been keeping his TikTok followers informed of the tough time he and his family are facing, on September 15,  he said it was 'likely' he 'would not be' remaining on the farm after January.

He said to a fan: 'If only it could keep going! It’s a beautiful place and I had accepted very low wages with double the work on the notion that we could make it sustainable and last. Alas!'

In a September 23 video, he said: 'I would work here forever at the same pay, but it's a matter of appreciation and where the money goes

'I want to be a little more involved in some of the decision making. I doubt if that will change.'

He later claimed in reply to a fan's comment:  'I am entitled to think I could run it, apparently.'

A 16-acre portion of Roloff Farms, which includes the 5,800sq ft family home, was first put up for sale in May 2022. Isabel claims the family 'indicated their intention to sell off the sprawling agricultural land as well.'

'I think that there’s just so much hurt and tension within the family. As somebody who married into it, I’m very much like, "Can’t we all get along?" But I can’t mend fences that I never broke.' Isabel said.

Isabel said she and Jacob 'just want to continue working and living here, if possible' and don't expect to be 'given the farm' – and refuse to launch a fundraiser to help keep it.

'We both are privileged in certain ways and just know that there are way better and more important things to donate to,' Isabel said.

She said the family have been told they have to move in January or February – although nothing is confirmed – and discussions are underway as to how to move their farm animals and whether they could restart the operation on another property.

'A lot of people assume that he has so much hurt here. But I think being here with our son was able to heal a lot for Jacob.  It felt like new beginnings, like changing the energy of the past and what happened to him here. He was just able to move forward and see it with different eyes - seeing it through the eyes of our son.'

After Jacob left the farm behind in 2016, he returned with Isabel ahead of the birth of their son, and agreed with Matt they would rent a home on the 109-acre Roloff Farms estate - but now Matt wants to sell the property

Isabel told People, 'We see land as such a precious thing. We’ve been so grateful to live here, so we just feel devastated. We’re still hoping for a miracle'

Matt told People in a statement: 'I’m focused on my retirement plans and being fair to all my family members that I love and adore including all my grandchildren.'

The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Matt Roloff and Jacob Roloff for comment and has yet to hear back.

Matt and Amy were married from 1987 to 2016. They also share twins Zach and Jeremy, 36,  and daughter Molly, 33.

Both Matt and Amy have dwarfism, as well as son Zach, while their other children are of average height.  Matt has diastrophic dysplasia, while Amy and Zach have achondroplasia.

Amy married real estate agent Chris Marek in 2021.

In a post trying to grab some attention to the property in 2025, Matt wrote: 'Ever dreamed of building a retreat, homestead, or legacy property?'

He then added: 'This TV-famous Oregon farmhouse sits on 16.6 acres with a pool, barn, trails, castle, and more—just 25 minutes from Portland.'

Matt Roloff had initially put what is known as 'the big house' on his farm up for sale in May 2022, though just a few months later in October, he turned it into a short-term rental

Bullet points include:  'Once home to Little People, Big World, Multiple outbuildings + development potential, Private, peaceful, and full of possibility, and Listed under $2.9M.'

His son Jeremy had expressed interest in buying the family homestead, but apparently father and son could not agree on the terms of the deal.

Roloff has continued to host the annual Pumpkin Festival on the property. He also offers private tours.

The home was listed for sale in June for $2 million, with Matt saying in a YouTube video: 'I'm going to try one more time to sell the small farm. I'm living in this new house on the big farm, the 90-acre place.

'I went back to all the kids one more time and said, "Hey guys, in a couple months…I'm going to list the house again if anybody wants to take a look at it one more time." But everybody's real happy in their current situation.'
