Lisa Faulkner's close friend Angela Griffin has revealed her pal has endured a 'really tough time,' after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

The actress, 54, revealed in July that she had already undergone surgery and would be moving onto a course of radiotherapy.

Hours after Lisa's husband John Torode shared how Lisa's diagnosis has 'changed everything,' Angela has now offered an update on her health.

The actress was a guest on Thursday's This Morning, where she discussed  the upcoming series of Blue Lights, which she is directing.

Angela spoke about Lisa's health after having lunch with both her and pals Tamzin Outhwaite and Amanda Holden.

She said: 'To have all those friendships and family and health, you can't complain.'

As a photo of Lisa and Angela appeared on the screen, she added: 'She's doing really well, it's been a really tough time, but she's through the big hills of it all.'

It came just a day after Lisa's husband shared how her breast cancer diagnosis 'changed everything.'

Speaking to The Times, former MasterChef star John, who presents the ITV cooking series John & Lisa's Weekend Kitchen with his wife, said: 'The most important thing to me is health and being with my wife, Lisa, and if I have that, everything else pales into insignificance.

'Lisa's breast cancer diagnosis this year changed absolutely everything.'

Lisa also told the publication: 'Cancer comes along and knocks you again and you suddenly realise that none of the other stuff matters. It changes everything. You suddenly realise what is important and the rest goes out of the window.'

It comes after Lisa shared a sweet selfie showing her cosied up to her husband as they celebrated his 61st birthday a few weeks after her diagnosis.

Referencing the recent times of strife, she lauded her husband, writing: 'I couldn't have got through these past few months without you by my side.'

Her touching tribute read: 'Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband @johntorodecooks I hope you have the best day my best friend...

'What a year it's been but we held each other's hands and I couldn't have got through these past few months without you by my side...

'You are the kindest man with the gentlest biggest heart and you make my heart thump. I look forward to a birthday coffee in our spot in the garden I love you my Johno and so does [our dog] Rory.'

Lisa married former MasterChef star John in October 2019 after first meeting on the show in 2010, before beginning a relationship a couple of years later.

Lisa gave an emotional update in July, days after first revealing she is battling breast cancer.

She thanked her followers for their messages of support and said she has been touched by all the love she has received.

The TV chef wrote: 'Thank you for all of your support and your lovely messages. I promise I will read every word...

'So many of you going through this or know someone who is. Your love and kindness has really touched me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.'

Lisa first shared the news online days before, explaining she had been quiet on social media while undergoing treatment for cancer.

She said: 'I know I've been very quiet on here, reason being I have had to have surgery for the early stages of breast cancer.

'I had surgery two weeks ago, it was quite a big op but it's all good and I've my results back and they've got everything out.

'So it's all clear and I just need now to have some radiotherapy in a few weeks.

'I just wanted to say I've got a bit of healing to do but I'm good. I'm well and feeling so much better and I'm so grateful I went for my mammogram.'

Encouraging others to go and get checked out, Lisa said: 'I just wanted to say don't put them off, go, because they found this and without that mammogram it wouldn't have been picked up.

'Thank you to our wonderful NHS and the fact we can have these mammograms and we can get treatment early.'
