Lewis Pullman Reveals Avengers Doomsday Will "Break a Lot of Rules"
Lewis Pullman had to Bob and weave at bit on the Oscars 2026 red carpet when the subject of Avengers: Doomsday came up.
"I can just say that I know fans are going to really appreciate this one," the 33-year-old, who made his MCU debut last year in Thunderbolts*, exclusively told Zuri Hall on Live From E!: Oscars 2026 of the upcoming installment in the mega-franchise. "This was made for the fans, and I think there's a lot of surprises in there that haven't been done in Marvel yet."
"So," Lewis added, "it's going to break a lot of rules in the most exciting way possible."
The actor will be reprising the role of average-guy Bob turned super-powerful Sentry in Avengers: Doomsday, which lands in theaters Dec. 18.
Lewis was on the red carpet March 15 at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre in advance of presenting at the 98th Academy Awards alongside his dad, Bill Pullman, with whom he also stars in the upcoming Spaceballs sequel, the Kylo Ren-esque son of his father's Han Solo-reminiscent Lone Starr. Once again, "I can't give away too much," Lewis told Zuri. But "it is littered with parodies left and right. I get to do a lot of one-on-one stuff with my dad for the first time in this way, and it was really special."

And apparently the relationship between Lewis and his dad IRL is a lot less complicated than the one between Starburst and Lone Starr.
"Me and my dad lived five minutes from each other," Lewis said of their set-up during filming the Josh Greenbaum-directed sequel to the 1987 Mel Brooks classic. "I'd go over there, we'd make dinner, watch a movie, like every other night."
Spaceballs 2 also stars Keke Palmer—"She's such a breath of fresh air," Lewis said, and "also like one of the funniest people alive on top of that, the best of both worlds"—and Josh Gad, in addition to returning stars Bill, Rick Moranis and Daphne Zuniga as Starburst's mom Vespa.
But even though Lewis broke out in Top Gun 2 alongside Tom Cruise, is part of the MCU and is joining yet another beloved galaxy far, far away, he noted that he still might get a little starstruck if he happens to see a certain actor at the 98th Academy Awards.
"I mean, if I saw Jesse Plemons, I might have a seizure," Lewis quipped. "What he did this year in Bugonia is some of the best acting I've seen in the last bunch of years. He's just spectacular."
Nothing wrong with staying a little starry-eyed in this business. Speaking of which, see all the stars and their red carpet looks at the 2026 Oscars:
