Anyone hungering for more of the world of Avatar through completely legal means should look no further than the latest announcement from Webtoo. Following the successful launch of The Last Airbender comics into the platform’s vertical scroll format, Polygon can exclusively reveal that The Legend of Korra will soon get the same treatment, starting with a story set directly after the events of the series’ grand finale.
On April 26, Dark Horse Comics’ The Legend of Korra: Turf Wars will arrive reformatted for easy screen consumption. Written by Avatar and Korra co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino with art by Irene Koh, Turf Wars was absolute catnip for anyone who grabbed the print graphic novels back in 2018. The three-part saga follows Korra and Asami as they gallivanted across the Spirit World and sealed their romance with actual kisses that were only left to the imagination in the Nickelodeon series. Along the way, Korra realizes an Avatar never rests, as new threats emerge in the wake of Kuvira’s rampage. Like so much of Korra, it’s mature, sweet, and, even in illustrated panels, action-forward.
Here’s a preview of what to expect.
If you haven’t watched The Legend of Korra yet… spoilers. Also, what are you waiting for?
