Curb Your Enthusiasm concluded in 2024 after a 12-season run over 24 years and remains one of the best comedy shows ever made. If you can't get enough of Curb and haven't seen this 2013 original HBO movie yet, you're certainly in for a treat.
Clear History Is A Must-Watch For Curb Your Enthusiasm Fans
HBO released a star-studded comedy movie in 2013 called Clear History that stars and was co-written by Larry David. The movie was directed by Greg Mottola, known for classic hits like Superbad and Adventureland, and is basically an extension of the Curb Your Enthusiasm universe.
In Clear History, David plays a man named Nathan, who was once a prolific marketing executive who missed out on a billion-dollar fortune after leaving the company he helped build from the ground up. Years later, Nathan lives a quiet life under the false alias Rolly on Martha's Vineyard, who seeks revenge against his former boss, Will, played by Jon Hamm, once he moves to the island.
While David doesn't exactly play a hyperbolic version of himself as he did for years on Curb, Nathan / Rolly are almost identical to David's signature wit and cynical nitpicking charm. The same type of humor that made Curb such a success is written all over Clear History, making it worth a watch or a re-watch for Curb fans still wishing there were more new episodes.
Clear History Has One Of The Best Comedic Casts Of All Time

Johnson / Courtesy Everett CollectionWhile Larry David is the star of the underrated comedy movie, which is much better than its 59% Rotten Tomatoes score suggests, the true feat of Clear History is its remarkable cast of comedic actors, all of whom have starred in massive shows or movies of their own. Besides Hamm and his on-screen wife, played by 2026 Oscar nominee Kate Hudson, the case includes Michael Keaton, Bill Hader, and Danny McBride, all in supporting roles.
But it doesn't stop there – Clear History also stars Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan, Paul Scheer, J.B. Smoove, and Philip Baker Hall, along with guest appearances by Conan O'Brien and Peter Farrelly. The enormous amount of talent in Clear History is one of the best reasons why all Curb fans should check it out on HBO Max. It's one of the best options for Curb fans to watch, other than repeats of Seinfeld, as they wait for the upcoming HBO historical sketch comedy series produced by the Obamas.
