EXCLUSIVE: Actor and producer Mustafa Speaks (Landman) has expanded his representation with Innovative Artists Entertainment, which now reps both him and his production banner Blue Meridian Studios on the literary side, in addition to continuing to represent him on the talent side.
Speaks and Blue Meridian have also signed with Untitled for management in all areas.
Recently, Speaks has been seen starring alongside Billy Bob Thornton in the Paramount+ drama Landman from Taylor Sheridan, which is heading into its third season, playing lead oil crewman Theodore “Boss” Ramone. Previous credits in television include Netflix’s Seven Seconds, Paramount+’s Joe Pickett, and The CW’s All American.
In addition to his acting work, Speaks is developing a slate of projects through Blue Meridian Studios, focused on premium, character-driven storytelling across film and television. Among them is the feature My Sweet Serenity, a father-daughter holiday drama he is producing and developing to star in, with Benny Boom attached to direct.
Speaks is also developing Ten Hard, an erotic crime thriller series based on the Tennyson Hardwick novels by Blair Underwood, with Cheo Hodari Coker (Marvel’s Luke Cage) attached as showrunner.
Before pursuing acting, Speaks studied Marine and Environmental Science at Hampton University and gained recognition for his research on shark behavior and marine ecosystems.
In a statement to Deadline, he said, “I’ve always believed powerful storytelling comes from lived experience. With Innovative and Untitled beside me, I’m excited to build projects that are cinematic, meaningful, and capable of connecting with audiences around the world.”
