Kaye Adams has revealed she suffered a throat cancer scare after discovering a lump in her neck.
The broadcaster, 63, sparked concern from her followers earlier this week when she shared a snap of her neck wrapped in a bandage.
Now, Kaye has shared the reason behind the bandage on her How To Be 60 podcast, saying she underwent a biopsy on her neck after discovering the lump.
The Loose Women star reassured her co-host Karen MacKenzie that the lump was 'fine' and she's been advised to 'keep an eye on it.'
During the show, Kaye also spoke for the first time about being axed from her show on BBC Radio after three misconduct complaints were upheld against her.
Fighting back tears, she emotionally shared she's endured a 'brutal five months,' after initially being suspended in October last year while an investigation took place.
Kaye Adams has revealed she suffered a throat cancer scare after discovering a lump in her neck, as she returned to her podcast for the first time since being axed from BBC Radio
Discussing her cancer scare, Kaye said: 'Do you remember last Summer…? I mean God last Summer…let's all try and forget last Summer.
'I found this lump in my neck. We had been interviewing Mark Steel, he'd been telling us about his experience with throat cancer. And as is typical, once you've done that kind of interview you go away and you start prodding about.
'And I found what I thought was a lump. I didn't tell you for ages because of course you were going through what you were going through and I thought ''That's the b****y last thing that you need'.
'Anyway, so it went on for weeks and weeks and weeks and I went to see this friend of mine who is a nurse and I said ''Can you have a wee feel of that?'', fully expecting her to say ''Oh don't be so stupid!'' And she said ''I'd get that checked if I were you''. Just like that.
'So I went to the doctor and they said ''Oh yeah, blood test….'' Anyway, this went on for a few weeks and I saw a specialist and so they want to do a scan and a biopsy, which they did last year.
'You know what it's like Karen, you spend however long thinking 'Oh my God, this is it!' Anyway, so they said it was fine and they'd just keep an eye on it.
'So that was just an appointment. So I've got to keep an eye on it. So I went back again and they gave me an appointment, and so it's a biopsy in your neck.'
Kaye shared she'd had had a second biopsy on the lump just a day before recording the podcast, resulting in the bandage on her neck.
She explained: 'The lady was very nice, so she did a scan and then its like a needle in your neck, they've got to try and get cells out of this….it's a node on my thyroid.
'So it might have to come out, might not have to come out, so we'll see.'
Kaye said that since finding the lump last year it hasn't grown in size, but added it would 'still be monitored' for any changes in the coming months.
She added: 'They look at these things really closely, don't they, you know the colour of it, the shape of it, the this, the that, the next thing. I don't know.
'She wasn't like ''Oh my goodness!'' or anything. It needs to be monitored, but oooff I have to say it was quite weird to see somebody come at your neck with a big needle. I'm a bit bruised but anyway I'm fine.
'And anyway I'm quite pleased because it's not often I've got a better medical story than you, is it?'

During the show, Kaye spoke about the 'brutal' time she's endured after being axed from her BBC Radio show following an investigation into her conduct.
Sources close to the star have blasted the axe as 'sexist and a stitch-up' and 'didn't make sense' as she had worked at the BBC for 15 years 'without issue'.
Kaye said: 'It's difficult, isn't it? You know what I mean. It's been a brutal five months, there's no doubt about it, and….you know it's hard, isn't it?'
She continued: 'I'm torn in that I don't want anyone to think… I mean, who cares about my life anyway, it's not that I'm expecting people to, but obviously some people will be aware of what's been going on in terms of me leaving the radio and stuff.
'I'm torn between not wanting to appear to ignore things, but also I just don't see a lot of point in saying much at this time, and this is a time to process things, try and get life back on track, try and get my mental health back on track, try and get my eating back on track, my sleeping back on track, and just my life back on track….
'And also for the sake of Ian and the kids you know so I'm gonna just stick to that at the moment and just you know gather myself. I think that's the best thing to do.
'I went to Edinburgh at the weekend to see the kids, my girls, and took Bee. We just had a lovely day because I mean I haven't been as present for them as they're used to, which has been a real sadness, and so you know it was just so lovely.
'We went for a walk with the dog and I just listened to them chattering away about all their stuff. That was really nice, just to be with them and they're such amazing girls, you know, and they're so supportive of me.
Fighting back tears, Kaye paid tribute to her daughters for supporting her during the loss of her radio show.
She added: 'You're the Mum, you're the adult, it's your job to look after them. I as you know do everything I can to look after them, but I am just so proud of… I'm so thankful to them.
'Yeah, they're good girls, they're good girls. But we had Bee… God Almighty it's all sadness isn't it? So Bee is 13, you know what it's like with a bloomin' dog, and she's got cataracts now and she's deaf as a post.
'So we are in this park in Edinburgh, you let her off the lead she can't hear you, she just cannot hear you, and she's got no sense of direction and now because it's Springtime she sees shadows the whole time so she's forever startling and youre shouting on her and she can't hear you. We were like comedy capers.'
On Friday, it was revealed Kaye was axed from her show on BBC Radio after three misconduct complaints were upheld against her.
One incident, where Kaye is said to have used the offensive c-word against a colleague, is believed to have taken place more than a decade ago and resulted in the person refusing to work on the show that day.
In another incident, the presenter is said to have lobbed a pen at a producer in frustration at an element of the day's programme.
Kaye is still a regular panellist and presenter on ITV's Loose Women, which previously said it was standing by the star.
