Zendaya Reveals Her Marriage Philosophy as Tom Holland Wedding Rumors Swirl
Zendaya and Tom Holland know everyone is spinning out over their possible nuptials.
But while the Spider-Man actress has acknowledged fans’ interest in the couple’s latest milestone teased by Law Roach, she recently emphasized why they will never confirm or deny whether they really tied the knot.
“I just feel like for me there is this level of a parasocial investment in my personal relationship,” Zendaya explained during an April 1 appearance on The New York Times’ Modern Love podcast. “I do know that I’m a public person and so is he and I’m also aware that we’ve grown up in front of people and we’ve done movies where we fall in love with each other so I really do understand that and I don’t want to dismiss that like, ‘Stay out of my business’ or whatever.”
However, Zendaya continued, “In a lot of ways, I’m also a very private person and I try my best to be able to have things for myself and for him as well.”
Indeed, Zendaya emphasized that she and Tom are not trying to “hide from the world,” but rather “preserve things for ourselves so that we can maintain that joy just within ourselves and our loved ones and our family.”
And so, The Drama actress confirmed that she certainly hears—and understands—the desire for people to know more about her and Tom’s relationship, but it’s simply not something they’re going to share.
As she put it, “I hear it but also my own little boundaries of what I like to bring up and talk about but then also what I’m willing to share.”

Of course, fans who have been following Tom and Zendaya’s love story since the very beginning know they never wanted to share details of their romance. In fact, they only confirmed their relationship after being caught kissing in paparazzi photos in 2021.
“One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore,” Tom told GQ a few months after the photos went viral, “and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world.”
When the photos came out, thus confirming a romance after four years of speculation, Tom admitted, “We sort of felt robbed of our privacy.”
Zendaya later added in the same interview of the photographs, “It was quite strange and weird and confusing and invasive.”
