Warning: Spoilers Ahead for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode #7!
Fans will have to wait a few days for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3's return. Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 has been dominating the winter 2026 anime season, and the action will only increase from here on out with the stakes in the Culling Game. But things hit a small hiccup when the anime announced a brief break ahead of Yuji Itadori's next battle.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode #7, successfully kicked off the Culling Game arc, following Yuji and Megumi after entering Tokyo's No. 1 Colony to search for the strongest players and covering chapters #158 and #160 to #162 so far. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode #8 is already teasing two major battles that will prove just how deadly this game really is.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Confirms Short Break Ahead of Episode 8 Release
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will take a break before the release of episode 8, airing a recap on February 19th instead of a new episode. The special recap will include episodes 1–7 of the third season (episodes 48–54 overall) re-edited with new narration. The announcement was made just after the premiere of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, confirming the anime's release schedule.
This suggests that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3's break could be motivated by special programming and expanded coverage of the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics (as the broadcast was also delayed 94 minutes from its original schedule). Even so, according to the animation director Hiromi Niwa, having a recap episode just after the beginning of the Culling Game is a blessing for fans.
Having a recap episode at this point when Yuji and the others are seriously joining the Culling Game is a real blessing—it lets us review everyone's goals and feelings too. It's great to have people binge it all at once. - Hiromi Niwa, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 animator.
Furthermore, Jujutsu Kaisen isn't the first anime to air a recap episode mid-season. This also happened in Solo Leveling Season 1, whose episode 7.5 was heavily criticized by fans. Still, just like A-1 Pictures, MAPPA may have planned to give Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3's animators the break they deserve, right at the halfway point of the "Culling Game Part 1."
When and Where to Watch Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode 8
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode #8, titled "Tokyo No. 1 Colony, Part 2," will air a week later than fans expected on the Crunchyroll platform. Episode 8 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will be available on Crunchyroll on February 26, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time (PST), 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time (EST), and 4:30 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
While it's pending confirmation, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3's recap may release on February 19th, considering that Crunchyroll added Solo Leveling Season 1's episode 7.5. However, the English dub is expected to continue with its regular schedule. That means that the English dub of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, episode #6, will be released on February 19, 2026, on Crunchyroll at its usual time.
What Happened in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode 7
In Episode #54 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro enter Tokyo No. 1 colony with the goal of finding the player Hiromi Higuruma while Panda and Hakari are heading to Tokyo No. 2's barrier for Hajime Kashimo. Yuji and Megumi are suddenly in a disadvantageous situation after being thrown into opposite ends of the barrier and separated.
Trying to get intel, Yuji is guided by a former student from his old high school, Rin Amai, who was exploited by stronger Culling Game players, while Megumi follows Remi's instructions. However, they both seem to have different information about where Higuruma really is, hinting that either Yuji or Megumi has been tricked.
Additionally, the episode brought revelations about Yuji, as he was a player even before entering the barrier. This proves that Kenjaku planned for him to participate as Sukuna's vessel. Also, Kenjaku referred to Yuji as his son during his interaction with the members of the Occult Club, recalling the complicated relationship between them and continuing to build the series' mysteries.
What to Expect in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode 8
Although there's a possibility that Amai and Remi are lying, the preview for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 episode #8 already shows that Higuruma will make an appearance. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode 8 will set up two fights with Yuji or Megumi facing off against Higuruma while the other will be led straight into a trap against another powerful player.
Although Higuruma and Kashimo have achieved the most points so far, the Culling Game colonies also hide powerful incarnated sorcerers, one of them being Reggie Star, who will be introduced in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, episode #8. Additionally, fans will get to see Higuruma's backstory, which was skipped from the latest episode and is featured in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter #159.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode 8 Is Already Being Called the Season’s Best
Hiromi Higuruma is one of the most anticipated characters of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3. That's why it's not surprising that the anime has taken special care to ensure that Higuruma's introduction lives up to his popularity, to the point that even one of Jujutsu Kaisen's animators hyped the episode as one that no viewer should miss.
Although Jujutsu Kaisen has one of the best animations in the medium, the anime is taking the Culling Game to a new level. The anime slightly extended the battle of Yuji against Hanyu and Haba, who are minor players in the Culling Game. Improving a small fight generates anticipation in the viewers for the big battles of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3.
Although fans must wait a little longer, it's worth staying tuned to see what will happen to Yuji and Megumi, as Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 episode #8 promises an exciting showdown that could become one of the best in the entire series.
