Kaley Cuoco’s Emmys color story came with a dress and a due date.

The 40-year-old actor wore pink Christian Siriano while expecting her second child, another daughter, with fiancé Tom Pelphrey.

“We were going for girlie, pink, she’s having a girl, she’s due soon, that kind of vibe. Ethereal, glowy. Pink and girlie,” her longtime makeup artist Jamie Greenberg told Daily Mail.

The celebration only grew from there. Pelphrey won outstanding supporting actor in a drama series for his performance in HBO’s Task.

Getting Cuoco ready, however, felt less like work and more like a girls’ night.

“She’s the most fun. She’s so fun. She is cracking jokes. We order food. It’s hanging out with your girlfriends. We’re no more than two hours. We take breaks. We watch some TV. We’re gabbing and catching up,” says Greenberg.

Greenberg used light therapy, layers of pink and strategic shine to carry the look from Cuoco’s face to her collarbone. Here is how she did it, step by step.

STEP 1: THE CUSTOMIZED LIGHT TREATMENT

Before opening the makeup bag, Greenberg used the new CurrentBody mask to brighten Cuoco’s complexion. Its customizable light settings allowed her to tailor the treatment to the actor’s skin instead of relying on a single preset.

“It just came out and it’s completely customizable to your own skin. You can personalize the colors. It’s kind of revolutionary. The greatest part of it, we did a lot of brightening. Her skin looked calmer and brighter,” raved Greenberg.

STEP 2: THE SPRAY-ON SERUM

Greenberg followed the mask with a serum delivered as a fine mist. The spray spreads a light veil of hydration across the face, helping the skin retain its fresh finish without burying it beneath a thick layer of cream. On Cuoco, it supported the soft, dewy base Greenberg wanted for the pink look.

STEP 3: THE DOUBLE-PINK BLUSH

One pink was not enough for this color story. Greenberg used both Radiant Rose and Pink Bliss to give Cuoco’s cheeks a layered flush that played off her Christian Siriano dress and the baby girl she is expecting.

The cream format kept the color looking fresh against the luminous base, while the two shades added more dimension than a single flat sweep of blush.

STEP 4: THE HERO HIGHLIGHTER

Greenberg did not stop the glow at Cuoco’s cheekbones. She carried the champagne-gold sheen onto the eyes and across the collarbone, connecting the face makeup with the skin exposed by the dress.

“We put it all over her cheeks and a little on the eye and her collarbone. It’s such a great product,” she said.

The balm texture leaves a glossy sheen rather than a stripe of obvious shimmer, making it suited to the ethereal finish Greenberg had in mind.

STEP 5: THE TUBING MASCARA

The mascara gave Cuoco clean length before the false lashes went on. Its tubing formula wraps each lash, pulling the fringe upward without loading the eyes with thick, heavy color.

That definition kept Cuoco’s eyes visible against the glowing skin and pink cheeks while creating a natural base for Greenberg’s final lash step.

STEP 6: THE $15 UNDERLASHES

Greenberg finished the eyes with pre-glued clusters placed beneath Cuoco’s natural lashes. Because the lashes sit underneath, their base stays hidden and the finished fringe appears to grow directly from the lash line.

Her secret weapon: “Of course my lazy gal lashes from Velour. They have glue on them. They’re underlashes. You just stick them on the under part of your lash. They look so natural. You can’t see where they begin and end.”

STEP 7: THE ROSE-NUDE LIP

Greenberg finished Cuoco’s makeup with a warm rose-nude balm that stayed within the night’s pink palette. The color goes on sheer and builds with each swipe, giving her lips definition, moisture and shine without the heaviness of an opaque lipstick.
