Hogwarts Legacy is turning three years old this year. It's hard to believe it's been that long, but it's easy to recall all the milestones it's had, including previous-generation ports, a Nintendo Switch edition, and a Nintendo Switch 2-enhanced version in 2025. It's also hosted several free giveaways on the Epic Games store.

Its momentum doesn't seem likely to slow down anytime soon, in part due to the relaunch of Harry Potter with the first season of the HBO show later this year. It's going to be a huge year for fans, and WB would be smart to take advantage of that with an imminent Hogwarts Legacy sequel announcement. Only time will tell, but the community thinks one might be on the way, given the new signs.

For now, though, all fans have is Hogwarts Legacy. Thanks to Wizard Academy, you can relive those moments in a completely new light, as it utterly transforms the game (via CurseForge).

Over the years, fans have lamented that Hogwarts Legacy focuses too much on its "epic" storyline rather than onthe time spent at Hogwarts as a student. Given how long hardcore Harry Potter enthusiasts have been waiting for a proper Hogwarts game, many of them were disappointed at the final version of Legacy, but mods have helped ease those aspects back in.

One popular mod is called "Class System," and brings 28 new quests into the game, with unique classes to boot. You'll attend your lessons in the morning from 8:30AM to 11:30AM, then head to the library to do your homework. For some folks, this probably sounds like a nightmare. For others, it's a role-playing opportunity.

If you're not keen on Class System, you can partake in Wizard Academy now, thanks to creator Vehem. Here's a full breakdown:

"Our custom Roleplay Mod transforms Hogwarts Legacy into a living, multiplayer roleplay world where you are no longer just following a story — you are creating your own. Instead of playing alone, you will share the castle, the grounds, and adventures with other students. Attend classes, join events, build friendships (or rivalries), and shape your own magical journey."

The mod boasts new spells, areas, and multiple role menus as it expands upon the original framework of the game, and makes Hogwarts more pronounced. In short, it adds flavor where there wasn't before, and alters the way you interact with Hogwarts Legacy. This would have been a great official update to transform new playthroughs, but for now, you can get it in mod form.

Fans can't get enough of modding Hogwarts Legacy. There are thousands of them available in everything from skins to whole new chunks of content, a true testament to how ambitious the game is, providing a framework for all these mods to work properly.

While folks wait for the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy, all they can do is daydream about the chance to see more school-based elements. It's entirely possible that WB and Avalanche Software underestimated that aspect before launch.
