While fans wait for the inevitable sequel to 2023's Hogwarts Legacy, they're still roaming around the open wizarding world in search of secrets and Easter eggs.
As one player on Reddit pointed out, it seems like the community isn't fully done finding everything there is to find.
Hogwarts Legacy Still Has Some Secrets
There Are A Few Deep Dives For Fans
Reddit user Matthew_Burke_09 discovered something recently in Hogwarts Legacy, and shared it with the community. In the game's open world, they found a cliffside that's "nearly identical" to the Horcrux cave in Half-Blood Prince.
For reference, this concerns the 2009 film adaptation of the novel, which features Dumbledore and Harry Potter facing an ordeal in a cave (where the Slytherin's Locket Horcrux is discovered). The cave in Hogwarts' Legacy looks strikingly similar to the one in the film, even if it's not technically in the same location (and the timing wouldn't line up in terms of a Horcrux actually being there during the events of the video game).
One commenter points this out succinctly: "You cannot see the Cliffs of Moher from the Scottish Highlands. The scene in Harry Potter was in Ireland. The scenery in Hogwarts Legacy are in Scotland and England."
In case you want to go discover it for yourself, it's on the far south side of the world map, below Clagmar Coast on the cliffside near the sea. Once you have a broom in-game and gain access to the open world, it's pretty easy to get to.
The original poster provides some directions as well: "Yes you can directly go to the spot itself, the closest floo flame to the location is called 'South Clagmar Coast', there are also some dugbogs tho so be careful when you visit it."

It's Clearly A Nod
Many fans are keen to note that this is a direct reference to the film: "Just watched HBP last night for the first time in a long while & literally said, 'I think that cliff is somewhere in HL!' And look at that, here you are!" While it's clearly not the exact cave, it's similar enough to suggest a nod to the film series.
While fans wait for the follow-up to Hogwarts Legacy, it's not tough to ponder what the sequel could actually give us that would keep diehards happy. The team was already highly invested in delivering an authentic Harry Potter experience, but the story lacked in many ways. If they can tighten up the gameplay and deliver on the narrative, the sequel could be even bigger than the original.
