Happily, if recent leaks are to be believed, we might not have to wait too much longer to find out exactly what they have been cooking up.
Over on Reddit, one user shared a post via German coverage site PlayFront, in which they detail how Hogwarts Legacy 2 could be revealed imminently at the next PlayStation State of Play, with a release during the Spring or Summer of 2027. It's obviously exciting news if you were a fan of the first game, and the community was keen to share in that news with others and state exactly what they want from the next game.
"Please let it be true that it is possible to travel from London to Diagon Alley. I really hope the world is divided into smaller maps which you can fast travel to by using flying powder. Just have Hogwarts and its surroundings + Hogsmeade + train station etc, including Ministry of Magic, Diagon Alley, Gringotts as separate maps," one comment read.
"I hope we get more locations than just the area around Hogwarts. That feels like the only way the game can build on the first one, keeping the same map is never going to happen. A Triwizard Tournament would be a sick way to incorporate other schools and locations, plus total creative freedom to create a location that isn’t described super specifically in the books," another added.
A third said, "I'm fine waiting for a polished game free of game-breaking bugs. Hogwarts Legacy felt like there was some things scrapped last second, like the morality/relationship system. Ultimately, it was a good story but left you wanting for more. Too much to collect as well the novelty wore off fast."
Hopefully the rumors turn out to be true, and we don't have too long to wait to see Hogwarts Legacy 2. It would make sense given how closely they want it to tie to the upcoming HBO adaptation, and they'll want to capitalize on the popularity of that to shift more copies of the game from virtual shelves.
