Hazbin Hotel has officially begun a new era on Prime Video, as the Hellaverse scores unprecedented success with its latest release. Hazbin Hotel season 2 was released on Prime Video last year, taking the series to new heights with its musical-based songs, raunchy comedy, and tense conflict between the Hotel and VoxTek. The show has since been renewed through season 5, meaning there are three seasons left before the show bows out. But, beyond the doors of the Hotel, the Hellaverse has been expanding with another series that's now taking Prime Video by storm.
That show is Helluva Boss, an animated comedy-drama about a group of assassins for hire in Hell. Led by the Hellborn imp Blitzø (the "o" is silent), the group tackle various hits in the real world from denizens of the afterlife, while also dealing with their own interpersonal drama. Helluva Boss season 3 premiered with three episodes on Prime Video on October 14, 2026, continuing its core story in the process. It's also managed to reach new heights that the series has never seen before.
Helluva Boss Is Quickly Taking Over Prime Video
Image via Prime VideoFollowing the season 3 premiere, Helluva Boss swiftly took over Prime Video, becoming one of the top TV shows on the platform. According to data from October 16, 2026, the animated series is now the Number 5 TV show in the world on Prime Video. In addition to its global success, the show is also Number 4 in the United States. Other high rankings include Number 6 in the Czech Republic and Number 7 in Australia, Hungary, Mexico, Sweden, and Thailand.
Helluva Boss season 3 has been earning positive reviews from critics, who've praised the series for both a return to form and evolution of the show that balances comedy and drama distinctly. However, there's also been some criticism from fans about some story choices made, particularly when it comes to the relationship between its core couple, Blitzø and Stolas. Despite the series' polarizing reactions, the numbers indicate it's still earning enough viewership to chart high. It's a continuation that has not only managed to succeed, but also usher in a new era for the franchise.
The Hazbin Hotel Spinoff Has Begun An Entirely New Era
Image via Prime VideoHelluva Boss season 3 is the first of the series to premiere on Prime Video. The first two seasons of the show premiered on YouTube, with season 3 getting a streaming release to better connect the series to Hazbin Hotel. The show has already featured a handful of Easter eggs connecting both series, but it's been teased that these connections will be much more prominent later on. The Hellaverse's deeper connections coupled with Helluva Boss' new home means there's going to be plenty for the show to explore as season 3 continues.
Although the premiere episodes have held some divisiveness amongst fans, the show has only continued to climb up the streaming charts following its premiere. Since the series has longevity behind it and a connection to Hazbin Hotel, it seems like Helluva Boss will continue to perform well despite some controversial plot decisions. As the series continues, it'll no doubt expand on the Hellaverse while emphasizing the importance of its standalone storytelling.
