Sue Andrews/Cover ImagesNetflix has more of Guy Ritchie’s two-part crime thriller series on tap and will begin pouring out the action in the not-too-distant future.
The Gentlemen season 2 was confirmed by Netflix back in August 2024, after a first season that garnered strong enough reviews to score a 75% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 2 began production in spring 2025, and wrapped in October.
The Gentleman star Theo James just offered an exciting update on season 2, revealing the show’s fall 2026 release window, while teasing season 2's darker tone (via Jasmine Valentine/TikTok).
"We’ve done it, we’ve wrapped season 2. Doing a cut at the moment. There’s still tweaks to be done but it will be in the fall, coming out. It’s fun. It’s still funny, but it’s darker. Goes a little wild."
James was confirmed to return at the time of the show’s renewal, as were co-stars Kaya Scodelario and Daniel Ings, along with episode director Ritchie and his co-writer Matthew Read. “I am delighted to return to set for Season 2 of The Gentlemen,” Ritchie said at the time (via Tudum), while teasing details about season 2’s expanding story and cast.
“This chapter sees a deliberate expansion, both geographically and thematically, as we journey from the English countryside to the Italian lakes. Eddie and Susie find themselves navigating an increasingly volatile empire as they’re besieged on all fronts by an influx of enigmatic new players." Ritchie continued, “The stakes are heightened, the power dynamics are more precarious, and I’m thrilled to be collaborating once again with this exceptional cast and crew.”
Gentlemen season 2 got a casting update back in May 2025, revealing many of the enigmatic new players set to join the ensemble, including Downton Abbey's Hugh Bonneville, along with Benjamin Clementine (Dune), Benedetta Porcaroli (The Leopard), Michele Morrone (Another Simple Favor), Sergio Castellito (The Star Maker), Amra Mallassi (Dune: Part Two), Tyler Conti (Tell Me Everything), professional boxer Chris Eubank Jr, and TV host Maya Jama.
Season 1 actors Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear, Pearce Quigley, and Giancarlo Esposito have also been confirmed for season 2.
That ensemble's lead actor James has given his own thoughts about The Gentlemen season 2 and the direction he'd like to see the story taken, saying in a May 2024 interview (via Deadline), "I think if you're going to do it again, you need a really strong throughline, you need a strong story. Because if you do it again and it's kind of just fun, wacky tricks, it'll be fun, but I think you need a place to drive towards. And I think that will be the challenge coming up with that."
