EXCLUSIVE: Emmy Award winner Katherine LaNasa (The Pitt) has been cast in Hulu‘s Count My Lies, from former This Is Us executive producers/co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.
LaNasa will play Tracy, Sloane’s (Shailene Woodley) mom.
Fans of La Nasa’s work on The Pitt needn’t worry. She will recur on the project, which is a limited series. The cast of the hit HBO medical drama recently concluded work on Season 2.
In Count My Lies, when compulsive liar Sloane Caraway (Woodley) fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet (Lindsay Lohan) and Jay Lockhart (Kit Harington), it seems she’s finally landed her dream job. But little does Sloane know, she’s just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode — with potentially catastrophic consequences for all.
The series is based on the recently published debut novel by Sophie Stava, written by Aptaker and Berger, who executive produce via The Walk-Up Company and serve as showrunners. Also executive producing are Lohan, Woodley and Scott Morgan of The Walk-Up Company. Stava is a producer. 20th Television, part of Disney TV Studios, where Aptaker and Berger are under an overall deal, is the studio.
LaNasa currently stars on the critically acclaimed HBO Max medical drama The Pitt, as charge nurse Dana Evans. For her portrayal in Season 1, she received her first Emmy nomination and first win under the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Season 2 will conclude on April 16.
Her most recent TV series regular roles also include the Apple TV drama Truth Be Told, opposite
Octavia Spencer, Bravo/Netflix’s Imposters, and CW’s Katy Keene with Lucy Hale. Other notable small screen credits include Seinfeld, E.R., Grey’s Anatomy, Two and A Half Men, Future Man, Big Love, Justified, Longmire and Daredevil: Born Again.
Her filmography includes leading roles in Jay Roach’s The Campaign and Jayne Mansfield’s Car, directed by and starring Billy Bob Thornton, as well as supporting turns in the romantic comedy Valentine’s Day, directed by Garry Marshall, The Lucky Ones, Alfie opposite Jude Law, and Stephen Soderbergh’s Schizopolis. She is repped by WME, Luber Roklin, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
