GTA 5 Free Download Officially Available To Grab Before April 29

The upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI is drawing all the attention right now, and for good reason, so it's easy to forget that there's still some life in the last game yet. Specifically, GTA Online continues to roll out active events for players to get involved in, and it will continue to do so until November rolls around (or another date if the horror of a delay greets us once again).

As of right now, GTA Online players can have a good time in the final run of the 420 event before the next game drops. As part of that, there are plenty of rewards to be had for participating, including a cosmetic freebie and plenty of additional currency to top up those digital coffers.

GTA 5 Gamers Can Grab A 420-Themed Freebie

Over on the official Rockstar Games website, you can find the breakdown of the latest version of the time-honored 420 event, with the developers confirming the following, "Play GTA Online anytime through April 29 to claim a free Black LD Organics Tee (pictured above) and support a streetwise OG and his thriving small business at the same time, delivered to your wardrobe."

There are plenty of other rewards to be had along the way as well, including 4X GTA$ and RP on Hunting Pack (Get Lamar). If you're able to win two rounds between April 23 – 29, you can also earn the Güffy Drug Rug Hoodie and GTA$100,000 as prizes for completing the Weekly Challenge.

Weed Farm businesses and upgrades are also discounted by 40% until April 22, and you can also earn additional passive income through Mr. Faber and Raf’s money laundering efforts, which in turn leads to more cash in your Hands On Car Wash safe.

Lastly, new Stoner Survival is rewarding 4X GTA$ and RP, with the mode activating at 4.20pm every day. Additionally, the Survival Blip can appear when in Freemode, so when it does, head to the Senora Desert Trailer Park to get started. If you can make it through five waves of Stoner Survival to complete the Weekly Challenge, you can also add the Sasquatch Outfit and GTA$420,000 to your stash through April 22

Who Needs GTA 6, Right?

With all of that going on, we really should put our worries about GTA VI on the backburner for now. Given how good it looks like it's going to be though, it's totally fair enough that some can't, particularly for those who are keen to jump into a new single-player story. Let's just hope that whatever Rockstar ends up delivering manages to live up to the insanely lofty expectations we now all have.
