James is a gaming writer from London who has spent thousands of hours exploring titles from every genre. Though he has a particular affinity for multiplayer titles like World of Warcraft, Destiny 2 and League of Legends, he has also put thousands of hours into single-player experiences, from deep RPGs to epic PC strategies. When he's not playing or writing, he can usually be found supporting his beloved Brentford FC.
One of the biggest problems studios face with big releases from iconic franchises like God of War, is getting everyone to keep a lid on the juicy details until they are ready to reveal them at the right time.Though NDAs obviously do a lot of the heavy lifting most of the time, there are plenty of ways that info can be leaked without real malicious intention from the person that does it.
Equally, there are plenty of nefarious actors out there who are trying to get hold of information via server hacks and vulnerability exploitation, as Pokémon developer Game Freak found out to their immense detriment in 2024. Now, we've just been treated to some additional details about the upcoming remake of the original God of War trilogy, and it has come from a place that few would have expected.
God Of War Trilogy Remake Details Have Leaked
Paul FarrellyAs first reported by PushSquare, Kratos' voice actor Christopher Judge was at a meet and greet, where he shared some information about the upcoming release of the remake trilogy with a fan.
Specifically, Kratos will be voiced by TC Carson in the remakes, with the actor reprising the role that he helped to make so iconic. He also confirmed that the remakes are extensive, with new technology, fighting systems and content for players to get stuck into, that weren't included in the original releases over 20 years ago.
It's Always The Last Ones You'd Suspect
Christopher Judge is absolutely beloved for his turn as Kratos in the rebooted trilogy, as well as his other iconic roles in film and TV, so few would have expected him to be the source of such juicy information about quite secret releases. He didn't stop there either, confirming to the fan that we can expect some more news about Sony Santa Monica Studios' next release in "late Summer," though what exactly he means by this wasn't elaborated on in any real way.
Judge did also say that the new release will "feel like" a new IP, with many speculating that Kratos could be heading to Ancient Egypt to take out their pantheon of weird and wonderful gods.
Whatever does end up happening with the new game, it's a very exciting time to be a fan of the series, with the refreshed OG experience likely to be a real highlight. It should also tide us over until the mainline series boots up again, with that God of War unlikely to arrive until late 2027 or beyond.
