Commercial director Jess Coulter of production outlet O Positive Films has signed with Gersh for representation.
Coulter is the only woman to have directed four Super Bowl commercials, and her latest will air Sunday during NBC’s telecast of Super Bowl LX. She also has a background in improv and sketch writing, acting and directing with NYC’s Upright Citizens Brigade and The Pit, along with screenwriting and still photography.
Her Super Bowl work includes AT&T’s “A Lot in Common,” an ad that featured Demi Moore and Mila Kunis, and she has also worked with Scarlett Johansson and Dan Marino in different ads. Additional commercial work has included Nick Offerman, Maya Rudolph, Wanda Sykes, and Amy Poehler, and campaigns for brands such as IKEA, Dunkin’, Progressive Insurance, Twix, CDW, and Netflix with Ben & Jerry’s.
Coulter is working to expand into narrative filmmaking, with a focus on directing film and television projects. She recently wrote and directed the short film “The Poster,” which stars Bridget Moloney, and is playing on the festival circuit.
Previously, Coulter was an award-winning creative director at BBDO New York, part of Omnicom Group. Her work has been recognized with Cannes Lions, One Show Pencils, CLIOS, Effies and AICP honors. She was also recognized by The 3% Conference and The One Club’s “Next Creative Leader.”
Before directing, Coulter was an NFL cheerleader for the Seattle Seahawks.
Gersh represents clients across film, television, sports, theater, comedy, branding, publishing, and digital media. The company sold a minority stake to Crestview Partners in 2023 after nearly 75 years of family ownership.
