Geri Halliwell and Christian Horner look downcast after their horse Lift Me Up fails to finish at Point-to-Point races in Worcestershire

Geri Halliwell and Christian Horner looked downcast after their horse Lift Me Up failed to finish a big race on Sunday.  

The couple were among those enjoying a day out at Point-to-Point races in Worcestershire over the weekend. 

But both the Spice Girl, 52, and Red Bull boss, 51, looked stressed as they stood trackside and watched the race, filming Lift Me Up in the parade ring. 

Their tense expressions worsened as the race came to an end and their horse failed to finish.  

Geri, who was holding a copy of 'Confessions of a Slow Two-Miler' by Matt Sheppard, looked typically country chic for her day at the races.

Inkeeping with her love for white ensembles, Geri sported a pair of skinny jeans, a  cashmere sweater and a huge scarf.

But she also added a khaki flat cap and wellington boots, as well as a beige gilet and a brown and grey suede and fur jacket. 

Meanwhile Christian donned a pair of dark blue jeans, a brown quilted jacket, as well as also sporting green wellies and a flat cap.  

It comes weeks after Geri took to the stage at the Royal Albert Hall and chose to read 'All My Life I've Belonged to No Man' by 1800s radical feminist, Flora Tristan, during a star-studded edition of Letters Live.

As the only reader to make an opening speech, she described Flora as an 'inspiration' before reading the 'delicious' letter that she 'couldn't wait to share.'

'I think at least one person in here tonight needs to hear this letter,' she told the packed Royal Albert Hall audience.

Dressed in a crisp white shirt and black bow tie, the Spice Up Your Life singer read aloud: 'A superior woman must be superior with everyone and in all circumstances.

'As for declarations of love, I received hundreds of them, I have the huge misfortune of being a pretty woman.'

She concluded: 'I no longer get cross with those who behave badly, though it pains me,' a statement that seemed to hint at the scandal which embroiled her personal life this year.

Hundreds of alleged WhatsApp exchanges between her Red Bull racing boss husband Christian and a female colleague were released via an anonymous email account.

Christian was accused of sending intimate late-night texts to a woman in her 40s, who took her concerns to HR at the Formula 1 team.

He has since been cleared of misconduct following an internal investigation which has allowed him to keep his £8million-a-year job.

At the time friends of the ex-spice girl warned the scandal would 'destroy' Geri after she was left 'extremely humiliated' by the embarrassing fall out.

The couple, who married in 2015 and share a seven-year-old son, are said to be putting the furore behind them, despite fears this year that their marriage was on the rocks.

At the time, sources claimed Geri was 'mortified and angry' as she stood resolutely by him throughout the allegations, which he always denied.

The accuser was later suspended following the findings of the investigation, which sparked fury from campaign groups who claimed 'women just don't have confidence that their complaints will be investigated properly.'

The spotlight on Christian is said to have impacted the couple's home life this year, which they split between their Oxfordshire farmhouse and a home in London.

But Geri and Christian put on a very smitten display during the FIA Awards in Kigali, Rwanda earlier this month.

They looked in good spirits as they cosied up for the glitzy event, as Geri rocked an elegant long sleeved dress that featured delicate diamanté detailing and paired the look with silver open toe wedges.

She carried a chic white shawl to wrap up form the winter chill and styled her famous red locks into a centre parting, which she curled the ends loosely to add a touch of glamour.

Christian meanwhile, looked dapper in a tux and posed for pictures with his gorgeous wife in the back of a cab and on the red carpet.
