Georgia Love brutally slammed for her outspoken take on Hyrox poo saga: 'No wonder your husband left you'

Georgia Love has been brutally slammed online after sharing her take on the HYROX 'poo scandal'. 

The Bachelorette star recently shared a screenshot on social media capturing one of the cruel messages she received from a follower who was unimpressed by her views after she labelled the sporting challenge 'toxic'. 

'It's because you're speaking like you know what you're talking about. The only toxic thing is you,' the hater began.

'Trying to bring down an event and people who like to keep fit and healthy and then trying to make out like you're being abused for no reason? Everything you say is so ignorant. The event is healthy and promotes fitness. Shouldn't be judged by ONE persons choice.'

They finished off with a particularly scathing criticism, saying it was 'no wonder' Georgia's husband Lee Elliott split with her in February last year.  

'Don't say things that you have NO idea on as a fact and then try to claim it's an opinion. Good journalism. No wonder your husband left you.' 

It comes after Georgia faced the anger of extreme sports fans after critiquing the competition.

She had earlier shared her 'disdain' at what she called a 'toxic' sporting challenge after Australian athlete Joanna Wietrzyk sparked controversy by continuing to race after suffering bowel incontinence.

The competition, which was held in Beijing over the weekend, clearly has its supporters, as Georgia learned the hard way. 

The 36-year-old was forced to address the negative comments her criticism had attracted in an Instagram Story post on Tuesday. 

'The unhinged and abusive messages I'm getting from HYROX people who don't even follow me is very funny to me,' Love wrote. 

'Keep pumping that iron(y), dolls,' she added, alongside a flexing arm emoji.

Controversy erupted after Wietrzyk continued competing as faecal matter ran down her legs, completing exercises including burpees, lunges and wall balls. 

HYROX is a fast-growing extreme fitness competition which sees athletes alternate between running and fitness exercises such as burpees, lunges and sled pushing. 

It has surged in popularity in recent years, especially among ageing millennials and office workers, and now stages events around the world.

The challenge combines eight 1 km runs with eight workout stations, requiring competitors to alternate running with exercises including sled pushes, rowing, weighted carries and sandbag lunges.

HYROX China said affected areas and race lanes were immediately closed and isolated before being thoroughly disinfected following Wietrzyk’s accident.

The clean-up included sanitising equipment and replacing sections of carpet.

HYROX co-founder Moritz Fürste subsequently apologised and announced changes to event procedures and the rulebook.

'Of course, we have already started improving event processes and making changes to the rulebook. As of this moment, new rules and procedures are in place to prevent situations like this from happening again,' he said.

'We learn and try to get better every day.'
