Obtaining the best build for Mavuika in Genshin Impact is an important step in optimizing her as a damage dealer for your team comps, regardless of whether she operates as a main DPS or a sub-DPS. The Pyro Archon became a playable character in Version 5.3 following her debut as an NPC in the Natlan story arc. As confirmed by HoYoverse, Mavuika is a versatile character who can operate as an on-field DPS or an off-field Pyro sub-DPS. Mavuika’s kit in Genshin Impact allows such flexibility, but it depends on players to focus on either aspect of her abilities.

With her Elemental Skill, Mavuika can either summon a Ring of Searing Radiance to deal constant Nightsoul-aligned Pyro DMG to nearby enemies, even when she is off-field, or summon her Flamestrider to imbue her Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks with Nightsoul-aligned Pyro DMG. While both roles in Mavuika’s kit see her dealing damage, there are some subtle changes to her build depending on which job she is tackling, so it’s necessary to build her adequately in order to take advantage of her powers. Of course, this comes after you obtain Mavuika’s materials in Genshin Impact and Ascend her.

Best Weapons For Mavuika (Best Claymores)

Look For Claymores With Great Offensive Stats

The best weapon for Mavuika is her signature 5-star claymore, A Thousand Blazing Suns. This weapon has a high base ATK stat (741 at level 90) and a useful CRIT Rate sub-stat (11% at level 90). Furthermore, when Mavuika uses her Elemental Skill or Burst, she gains Scorching Brilliance, which boosts her CRIT DMG by 20% and her ATK by 28% for six seconds – the effect can be triggered once every 10 seconds. Scorching Brilliance’s duration can be extended by two seconds for every Normal or Charged Attack that deals Elemental DMG, up to six seconds.

The table below lists the best team comps for Mavuika in Genshin Impact, including the strongest weapons, ideal Artifacts, recommended stats, and more:

Mavuika's Best Build In Genshin Impact

Weapon

  1. A Thousand Blazing Suns (Best 5-star)
  2. Wolf's Gravestone (5-star substitute)
  3. Beacon of the Reed Sea (5-star substitute)
  4. Fang of the Mountain King (5-star substitute - Burning or Burgeon team comps)
  5. Serpent Spine (Best 4-star - DPS role)
  6. Earth Shaker (Substitute 4-star)

Artifact

Main DPS:

  • Obsidian Codex (4 pieces)

Sub-DPS:

  • Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City (4 pieces)

Stat Priority

  1. CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
  2. ATK
  3. Pyro DMG
  4. Elemental Mastery (sub-stat)

Skill Priority

  1. Elemental Skill
  2. Elemental Burst
  3. Normal Attack

When Mavuika is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, A Thousand Blazing Suns will increase the effects of Scorching Brilliance by 75% and its duration will not count down when the character is off-field. This makes the claymore perfect for Mavuika. A Thousand Blazing Suns works for Mavuika regardless of her role in team comps and it greatly benefits the offensive stats she needs to deal damage, either as a DPS or a sub-DPS. Mavuika’s signature weapon in Genshin Impact is, arguably, the best claymore in the game for damage dealers.

For her on-field DPS role, you can alternatively use Wolf’s Gravestone. This 5-star claymore has a base ATK stat of 608 (at level 90) and a great ATK sub-stat (49.6% at level 90). Additionally, Wolf’s Gravestone will increase Mavuika’s ATK by an extra 20%. On hits on opponents with less than 30% HP, the weapon will increase all party members’ ATK by 40% for 12 seconds. Like the previous weapon, Wolf’s Gravestone also serves Mavuika’s roles in team comps. Another 5-star alternative is Beacon of the Reed Sea in Genshin Impact.

Why Genshin Impact Confirming Long-Forgotten Leaked Characters Like Dahlia & Prison Girl Is A Big Deal

HoYoverse has teased seven new characters for Genshin Impact. Among them are several previously leaked characters like Dahlia and prison girl.

The claymore offers a regular base ATK (608 at level 90) and a high CRIT Rate sub-stat (33.1% at level 90). When Mavuika’s Elemental Skill hits an opponent, her ATK is boosted by 20% for eight seconds. When she takes DMG, her ATK also increases by 20% for eight seconds. These effects can occur when she is off-field. If Mavuika isn’t protected by a shield, her Max HP is increased by 32%. If you intend on building a Burning or Burgeon party, you can give her Fang of the Mountain King, the best weapon in Kinich’s build in Genshin Impact.

The weapon offers a high base ATK (741 at level 90) and a CRIT Rate sub-stat (11% at level 90). When an enemy is hit with Mavuika’s Elemental Skill, she gains a stack of Canopy’s Favor. After a party member triggers Burning or Burgeon, Mavuika gains three stacks. Canopy’s Favor increases Mavuika’s Elemental Skill and Burst DMG by 10% for six seconds, up to six stacks. Because all of these are premium 5-star weapons, you may have trouble obtaining them. Luckily, there are several strong 4-star claymore for DPS characters in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 5.3 Leaks: You Should Complete This World Quest Chain Before Starting To Play The New Natlan Archon Quests

There’s a set of World Quests players should consider completing in Genshin Impact before they start the new Archon Quests from Version 5.3.

The best 4-star weapon for Mavuika’s on-field DPS role is Serpent Spine. The weapon offers a low base ATK (510 at level 90) but a huge CRIT Rate sub-stat (27.6% at level 90). With Serpent Spine, every four seconds Mavuika is on the field, she will deal 6% more DMG and take 3% more DMG, up to five stacks. For both her DPS and sub-DPS roles, you can also equip Mavuika with Earth Shaker in Genshin Impact, which has a 565 base ATK (at level 90) and a 27.6% ATK sub-stat (at level 90).

When a nearby ally triggers a Pyro-related reaction (which only needs to interact with Mavuika’s Pyro abilities, for example), Mavuika’s Elemental Skill DMG is increased by 16%. This effect can be triggered even if Mavuika is off-field. While these are the recommended weapons for Mavuika, you have other options. Look for weapons that increase offensive stats like CRIT and ATK, and that can potentially benefit her damage output even when she is off-field in Genshin Impact.

Best Artifacts & Stats For Mavuika

Artifacts Vary Depending On Her Role In Team Comps

Choosing an Artifact set for Mavuika will depend on her role in team comps. For her on-field DPS role, the best Artifact set for Mavuika is currently Obsidian Codex. The set’s two-piece bonus increases her DMG by 15% when she is in her Nightsoul’s Blessing state and on the field. The set’s four-piece bonus increases Mavuika’s CRIT Rate by a whopping 40% for six seconds when she consumes a Nightsoul point, an effect that can trigger every second. Obsidian Codex Artifacts in Genshin Impact have been a staple for Natlan DPS units.

Genshin Impact 5.3 Leaked Footage Seems To Confirm Devastating Character Loss

Natlan may lose one of its most important characters in Genshin Impact 5.3, and new leaked footage helps sustain the previous rumors of their demise.

However, there is a big problem with the Obsidian Codex set when applied to Mavuika. When the Pyro Archon uses her Elemental Burst, she enters the Crucible of Life and Death state. In this state, Mavuika stops consuming Nightsoul points to keep her Nightsoul’s Blessing state active for seven seconds. This means that, after using her Burst, she will be unable to gain the 40% CRIT Rate bonus from the set’s four-piece bonus because she cannot consume Nightsoul points. In turn, this will likely force players to hold back on using Mavuika’s Burst in Genshin Impact.

This issue could be resolved in the future with the release of a new Artifact set for Natlan DPS units that does not punish Mavuika’s lack of Nightsoul point consumption following her Burst.

If you are using Mavuika as an off-field sub-DPS, the best Artifact set is Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City. With its two-piece bonus, when a party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, Mavuika restores 6 Elemental Energy – which is useless for her since her Burst is charged by a unique mechanic called Fighting Spirit. With Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City’s four-piece bonus, when Mavuika triggers a Pyro-related reaction, all nearby allies gain a 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for the elements involved in the reaction for 15 seconds.

If Mavuika is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state when triggering the bonus, all nearby allies gain an extra 28% Elemental DMG Bonus for the elements in the reaction for 20 seconds. Mavuika can trigger this effect while off-field. The effects from Artifact sets of the same name don’t stack – if players are running Kachina or Xilonen with Mavuika, only one of the character’s sets will activate.

Genshin Impact: It's About Time HoYoverse Retired Alchemy Tables

Farming could be optimized in Genshin Impact if developer HoYoverse retired Alchemy Tables in the way that they are currently presented.

When farming either of the Artifact sets for Mavuika, look for CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, ATK, and Pyro DMG. These are the priority stats for Mavuika’s build as both a DPS and sub-DPS and what determines her damage output. A bit of Elemental Mastery can also help you increase the power of the elemental reactions she triggers with her allies in Genshin Impact – this can be particularly helpful in an Overloaded, Burning, or Burgeon team comp, for example.

Best Team Comps For Mavuika

The Pyro Archon Is Versatile

Because of Mavuika’s build and kit, she is a versatile character in both her roles. For her DPS role, it’s best to consider a useful sub-DPS that can constantly guarantee elemental application to interact with Mavuika’s Pyro DMG. A Burning team with Emily, for example, can work exceptionally well. In her sub-DPS role, you can put her in a variety of team comps.

It is worth noting that Mavuika’s ATK can be boosted by 30% for 10 seconds when an ally triggers Nightsoul Burst, so having Natlan characters like Mualani or Kinich in Genshin Impact could improve her off-field value.

The table below lists a few team comp suggestions for Mavuika:

  • Layla (Cryo Shielder)

The variety of team comps you can build with Mavuika is large. Mavuika can gain extra charges of Fighting Spirit for her Burst when allies land Normal Attacks and consume Nightsoul points. As such, Normal Attack DPS units like Wriothesley and Clorinde can fuel her Burst. If you’re using a Natlan character who focuses on Normal Attacks and Nightsoul point-consumption like Mualani or Kinich, you can quickly charge her Burst in Genshin Impact.

Skill Priority For Mavuika

The Character’s Elemental Skill Is The Most Important Part Of Her Tool Kit

When leveling up Mavuika’s abilities, prioritize improving her Elemental Skill above all else, regardless of her role in team comps. The next step is to increase her Elemental Burst, which is a powerful nuke to execute in battles. The last order of business is improving her Normal Attacks, which should not be overlooked.

Genshin Impact 5.3 Leaks: Capitano May Never Become Playable For A Very Grim Reason

A new leak about Capitano in Genshin Impact 5.3 has emerged and it may sustain the previous leaks that said he would not become playable.

Overall, building Mavuika is pretty straightforward, as long as you know which role you want her to play in your team comps. Currently, both Artifact sets for her are flawed and don’t work entirely well, but they are still the best options for her as a Natlan character. The arrivals of Mavuika and the Pyro Traveler are great since they give players more options for the Pyro sub-DPS role in team comps, but Mavuika’s flexibility is a unique thing for the Pyro element in Genshin Impact.
