Robert Wood is a writer and editor based out of Cheshire, England. He is the author of 'The False Elephant: and 99 Other Unreasonably Short Stories' - 100 stories, each told in exactly 100 words.

Rob got into comics via Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man and the UK anthology 'The Mighty World of Marvel,' which was running Frank Miller's Daredevil, Classic Hulk and Contest of Champions II.

Prior to journalism, he worked in copywriting and copyedited for Oxford University Press. He is on X as @PinchTwigs and Instagram as roobwoodjourno.

If you love Doctor Who, then February is everything you could possibly ask for, with new adventures from Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor, Billie Piper's Rose and Alex Kingston's River Song, across two separate projects. Plus, there's a major auction underway that you may still have time to check out.

Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor Has a New Adventure with Rose

CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON IN DOCTOR WHO CLOUD CITY AUDIO DRAMA

First, Big Finish Productions just released new full-cast audio drama Cloud Eight, starring Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper. The latest of the new audio Ninth Doctor Adventures, the story takes place in the 47th century, with the Doctor and Rose visiting a seemingly idyllic society dedicated to constant leisure.

The drama is Doctor Who's twist on Groundhog Day, with this malevolent locale trapping Rose and the Doctor in a routine that repeats day after day after day.

Eccleston has famously refused to return to TV as the Doctor, but these audio dramas continue to introduce new stories for the version of the character that totally rebooted the franchise in 2005, alongside easily the most beloved companion of all time.

While TV Doctor Who just teased Rose's return as part of Ncuti Gatwa's regeneration, this new audio drama has brought the character back even sooner than expected, and she's not the only companion with a surprise return...

River Song Is Back in New Book from Alex Kingston

DOCTOR WHO RIVER SONG BOOK

Last week saw the release of Alex Kingston's new book, Stormcage: A River Song Adventure. The story from the River Song actress sees a group of aliens invade the Stormcage facility, damaging fate itself and opening up a selection of escape routes for the daughter of Amy Pond.

That's because this novel is a gamebook, aka a "Choose Your Own Adventure" story, with readers able to explore different avenues by making choices about what River Song does next. Publisher BBC Books states:

Alex Kingston has always played River Song. Now, in this immersive, multi-strand adventure she invites YOU to become the beloved.

This Doctor Who offering is special in several ways, but the big draw is Kingston's involvement. The Doctor Who actrss is unquestionably the most qualified person possible to cast the reader in her iconic role.

Doctor Who's 2026 Auction Is Also Underway

With Eccleston and Piper back in a new audio drama, a gamebook novel from Alex Kingston and a major auction, February is a huge month for Doctor Who fans, with new stories starring several of the franchise's most beloved characters.
