The Fugitive Task Force from FBI: Most Wanted gets an exciting update a year after CBS decided to cancel the spinoff. Pulling the plug on some shows is part of the TV industry, as broadcasters re-assess their programming for the future. While some are justified because of ratings performances, others leave the public scratching their heads. Unfortunately, the double cancellations of FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International fall under the latter.
Dick Wolf's only procedural franchise outside of NBC, the FBI universe was the perfect three-hour block for CBS's Tuesday nights. While the offshoots never got the prominence that the flagship has enjoyed for years, they were both beloved. FBI: Most Wanted, in particular, delivered some of the best weekly episodes — sometimes, even better than what its parent show produced. So naturally, it was disappointing to see it ending.
Fugitive Task Force's Nina Goes Undercover In FBI Season 8, Episode 11
In 2026, however, CBS drops a surprise update on how the Fugitive Task Force a year after FBI: Most Wanted's finale. For context, the show's ending saw Remy retire from the organization, organically ushering Barnes to take over the squad. This meant that their work continued beyond the run of the show; their work just didn't play out on the screen. This time, however, CBS is bringing back the Fugitive Task Force on FBI via an upcoming appearance from Nina.
As officially revealed by CBS, FBI season 8, episode 11, "Confetti," will see Nina go on undercover work that "goes sideways." This allows the New York City field office to step in and offer some help. It doesn't seem like any of the other remaining Fugitive Task Force members will appear in the outing, which makes sense, considering that it is mainly a flagship storyline, with Shantel VanSanten coming in as a guest star. Nina's appearance, however, is enough indication that Barnes' leadership is doing well.
What Nina & Scola's Marriage Means For Their Future In FBI
It's worth remembering that the last time that the idea of tying the knot was raised, Nina was adamant that she didn't want it. She and Scola had a solid foundation, and they didn't need a piece of legal paper to prove it. Changing her mind since then will be an interesting point of discussion when she appears on FBI season 8, episode 11. Perhaps something happened in the last year with the Fugitive Task Force or her recent undercover operation that ultimately leads to them getting married.

That said, officially being a married couple may fully close the door on the possibility that Nina returns to the New York City field office — her original team before she was transferred to be with FBI: Most Wanted's Fugitive Task Force. She and Scola have an ongoing agreement that they can't be working for the same team to ensure that their child has at least one parent available at all times. Now that they're legally bound together, it's safe to say that they are more committed to that than ever.
