One of Mexico's biggest stars has outraged fans after cancelling a scheduled concert just hours before he was due to arrive on stage.
Grammy winner Carín León was scheduled to resume his residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas on Thursday when he failed to make it into the city, citing mysterious 'aircraft malfunctions' as the cause.
'Due to an unexpected mishap during my move, and always putting everyone's safety first, we unfortunately have to reschedule tonight's show at Sphere,' he wrote in a statement on Instagram, which was translated into English by Billboard.
'I know all the effort, excitement, and desire that many brought to be here tonight, and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,' he continued.
'Thank you for your patience, for understanding and for all the affection you always make me reach. See you the soonest my people.'
His apology did little to please his fans, many of whom posted angry videos to social media of themselves cussing León out and giving him the finger.

The comments section of León's Instagram page is also flooded with disgruntled fans, with one writing, 'The Backstreet Boys played 50 shows at the Sphere and didn't cancel one! There are levels to artists!'
Another commented, 'Are you going to reimburse us hotels and everything or how does it work?'
Some also pointed out that the singer should have arranged to come to Vegas at least a day prior to his concert, rather than trying to fly in just hours before the show.
Argentine YouTuber Javier Ceriani shared one video from the venue that showed fans chanting, 'f**k your mother' in unison as they shuffled out of the venue.
León also shared a video further explaining the concert cancellation, claiming that two separate planes that he and his band had attempted to board on Thursday afternoon had issues; one with a brake failure and the other with a steering problem.
'We had to prioritize the safety of the people and the pilots, so we weren't allowed to fly. The authorities wouldn't let us,' he said.
'I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart and want to reaffirm our love for you. This isn't a lack of commitment on our part. Things simply didn't go as we had hoped, and I stand here feeling deeply embarrassed.'
The Sphere also issued a statement of their own, writing, 'Due to an unexpected transportation issue, tonight's CARÍN show at Sphere is postponed.
León, who specializes in regional Mexican music, has won two Grammy awards and charted multiple songs on the Billboard Hot 100
'Tickets remain valid for September 15, 2027. Refunds are available at the original point of purchase by October 10, 2026. We apologize for the inconvenience.'
In addition to offering refunds, the concert has also been rescheduled for 2027.
He is still scheduled to perform this Friday, Saturday and Sunday to finish out his residency.

León, who specializes in regional Mexican music, is currently one of Mexico's biggest crossover artists.
He's had three songs on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and he won Best Música Mexicana Album at the Grammy Awards in both 2025 and 2026.
In March, he teamed up with country singer Jelly Roll for an official 2026 FIFA World Cup song called Lighter.
