Ellidy Pullin's future father-in-law responds to Chumpy Pullin's dad's claims about family tensions over her engagement - and reflects on his political past

Ellidy Pullin's new father-in-law has broken his silence over her infamous feud with her late partner Chumpy Pullin's dad.

Gold Coast influencer Ellidy - who was champion snowboarder Chumpy's long-term girlfriend when he accidentally drowned while spear-fishing at Palm Beach in 2020 - announced her engagement to Queensland builder Brock Wadsworth this week. 

She has faced calls to relinquish the Pullin surname, which she took by deed poll after Chumpy died despite never being married or engaged to him, now that she is marrying a new man.

Chumpy's father Chris Pullin indicated this week he would prefer she change her name to Wadsworth upon marriage, given she no longer has a relationship with most of Chumpy's family.

Chris believes Ellidy 'blocked' Chris and his now-late wife Sally in 2024 due to a row over a charity foundation in champion snowboarder Chumpy's name. 

He has not seen his four-year-old granddaughter Minnie - born via IVF after the Pullin parents gave Ellidy permission to harvest their son's sperm in the days after his tragic death - since she was a baby. 

Now, Ellidy has announced her engagement to Brock, and hinted on Thursday that Minnie may soon have a sibling.  

Brock's father Glen Wadsworth - a well-known Gold Coast building magnate with a colourful personality - said he was aware of the feud between Ellidy and Chumpy's dad Chris Pullin.

'I've heard about it but I try to keep out of that stuff. I've got seven kids and two stepkids. [Chris and Ellidy] are big people and have to sort it out for themselves,' he said, during a chaotic interview with the Daily Mail.

Before the Mail caught up with Glen, we spoke to his wife Justine - who hinted at what was to come.

'I don't know if you should speak to him, he'll probably say something inappropriate. He's just a larrikin,' she said with a wry laugh.

'But no we are very happy for [Brock and Ellidy].' 

We then tracked down Glen, the founder of Australian and New Zealand company Wadsworth Construction, of which his son Brock is managing director, who chuckled as a woman tried to wrestle his mobile phone away from him.

'No offense to you, but we're not talking to the bloody Daily Mail!' she could be heard shouting in the background.

Glen, 68, explained, chuckling, that the voice belonged to 'my daughter, she doesn't want me to talk to you'.

Despite the call being suddenly switched to FaceTime as the unnamed daughter attempted to hang up, Glen went on to confirm he thought it was 'great news' that his son had popped the question to one of Australia's best-known influencers while on a European holiday.

Glen and Chumpy's dad share a surprisingly similar tragedy - both men lost their wives to cancer.

Glen's wife Jill died aged 55 in 2013 after battling the insidious disease, while Chris' wife Sally passed away at home in April 2025 after suffering from Central Nervous System Lymphoma.

A death notice for Jill in the Courier-Mail explained that she was 'Dearly loved and cherished by Glen, Shae, Carly, Joshua, Korinne, Kane & Brock, their partners and grandchildren'.

When Glen - who has since remarried to Justine - was asked if he felt any solidarity with Chris over their similar heartbreaking losses, he said: 'Not at all, I don't know the guy.' 

'I'm more concerned with the kids [Ellidy and Brock] and they're doing great.'

Ellidy, who grew up on Sydney's Northern Beaches where she met Chumpy at a social gathering, is marrying into a family with strong connections to the One Nation Party.

Glen ran for the seat of Currumbin in 2020, and confirmed he is still a card-carrying member of Pauline Hanson's political movement today.

'I did it because I support One Nation as a patriot,' he confirmed. 

'I am still a member, but I won't be [running] again, because it wasn't a very fun thing to do. 

'People say you're a racist and all this s**t... not true. Politics is a mug's game.'

One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts described Glen as someone who had 'run his own construction company for about the last 30 years, employing on average 200 employees'. 

'Glen is sick of the two tired old parties never delivering what they promise. He is a widower and has seven adult children and currently seven grandchildren.

'Clearly he has a wealth of various life experiences, both good and bad, whilst a typical knockabout, streetwise Aussie larrikin who has been a Pauline Hanson supporter since she entered politics.' 

On Thursday, Ellidy, 34, posted a reel to Instagram in which she could be heard soothing a frustrated Minnie and asking if she was 'excited to have a sibling one day'.

Several of the Wadsworth children work under Glen for his construction company, and many of them have made him a grandfather.

Glen revealed his excitement to add more members to his growing empire.

'That's up to the kids, but I'd suggest it would be inevitable,' he said, in reference to Brock potentially becoming a father.

'But anyway, [the engagement] is great news, good for them'.

Brock, who has been dating Ellidy for more than a year after initially being friends with her through mutual Gold Coast connections, has become a father-figure to young Minnie - something Ellidy was prepared for when she chose to become a single mum.

'We call [Chumpy] Daddy in the Sky and Chumpy in the Sky because one day she might naturally want to call another person her dad, and I don’t want to take that away from her,' she told Body+Soul in 2024.

In the same interview, she revealed dreams of giving Minnie a sibling - but said she was unlikely to use the remaining embryo she has on ice created from Chumpy.

'People ask if I’ll have another Chumpy baby [because there is one embryo left], and my answer is no, I don’t think that I will,' she said. 

'I’m happy with Minnie being a little Chumpy, and I think one day I will find someone and have another baby [with them], I can see that happening.'
