A new open-world RPG seems like a blend of Elden Ring and Valheim, and fans of either game won’t want to miss out, especially if you want something new to play with your friends. While Elden Ring has expanded on the well-known and beloved soulslike formula, it was a revolutionary entry in the subgenre, expanding the possibilities with its new open-world approach. Its release forever changed how developers look at some of the newer soulslike games, as there is a new standard to beat.

On the other hand, Valheim set a new standard for survival RPGs. The game expands on the genre’s classic formula, bringing a fun approach to gameplay with friends and its popular high fantasy setting in a Nordic landscape. There are several new games like Valheim – they aren’t exactly copies of the game, but draw heavy inspiration from the title.

Elden Ring Meets Valheim In Endalor

The RPG Mixes Souls Combat With Survival

Characters gather around a campsite in Endalor.

One of these new games is Endalor, set to release in Early Access on Steam later this year. Endalor is an open-world survival RPG that will feel a lot like Valheim, but is heavily influenced by Elden Ring and other soulslike titles. Its dark fantasy setting, along with punishing combat led by menacing opponents, seems like Elden Ring. Based on the promotional material shared so far, it seems like there are some opponents that resemble the tough enemies from Elden Ring.

The classic roll-dodge mechanic from souls games is part of the core combat mechanics in Endalor.

When it comes to survival mechanics, like those seen in Valheim, you can expect a lot of open-world exploration meant to help you find resources to then build and craft, establishing a homestead that can then serve as your base of operations. You can tackle this adventure alone or in groups of up to four adventurers – a feat that may prove to be worthy given how harsh Endalor’s world can be.

This New Open-World RPG Looks Incredible

Endalor Arrives Soon

From what can be seen so far, Endalor is already building up to be an incredible open-world RPG. The title features graphics you’d be accustomed to seeing in Valheim, but in a dark fantasy world that is highly reminiscent of Elden Ring. The gameplay looks fluid and polished in both the crafting and combat aspects of the title.

It’s unclear how much longer we’ll have to wait to play Endalor in its Early Access period, as the developers at Diorite Games have not revealed exactly when it will drop. It’s expected happen in Q1 2026, which means it should start by the end of March. The devs expect the RPG to be in early access for around 12 to 18 months.
