Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there.

Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.

With the GDC Festival of Gaming coming to an end in San Francisco later today, attendees were able to immerse themselves in the gaming world by getting their hands on some upcoming releases, meeting dedicated developers, and learning how games are made from the ground up. However, there was one exciting addition at the event, and with positive reviews flooding in, it bodes well for fans of FromSoftware's beloved Elden Ring.

Elden Ring's Big 2026 Comeback Is Worth The Wait

First released back in 2022, Elden Ring saw Dark Souls' creator Hidetaka Miyazaki come together with Game of Thrones visionary George R.R. Martin to create a role-playing game on a never-before-seen scale. Set in a vast open world known as the Lands Between, Elden Ring tasks the player with becoming the Elden Lord as they fight all manner of punishing bosses and make their way to the throne. Now considered one of the greatest games of all time, it is no wonder that fans are eager for more, and this upcoming release may just satiate the need for more of the stunning world.

Shared by industry insider Stealth over on Twitter, early previews of Elden Ring on the Nintendo Switch 2 have been unveiled courtesy of some of the GDC Festival of Gaming attendees. According to a swarm of reviews, Elden Ring runs great in both docked and handheld modes and has "similar visuals" to its other versions. As such, "the delay was worth it." The delay came after Elden Ring on the Nintendo Switch 2 was first previewed at Gamescom back in August 2025. According to early previews, it suffered major performance issues as well as an unsteady frame-rate and stuttering outside the tutorial area.

We're Ready To Die Again In Elden Ring

However, it seems as though all of those troublesome performance issues have been rectified with new previews suggesting that it runs smoothly and looks just as good as its console and PC counterparts. Of course, we will have to wait and see until launch to see if these reports are wholly accurate, but things definitely seem a lot more optimistic following its delay. "I played it and can confirm it's pretty stable," one user shared in Stealth's Twitter comments. However, another user was feeling less hopeful, adding, "To be honest, it's too little too late for this game. Too many NEW games coming out."

Regardless of how you feel, I find it hard to believe that players will not flock to Elden Ring on the Nintendo Switch 2. After all, we all love suffering and what better way to be reminded of your own lack of patience than by fighting Malenia for the 100th time, albeit on a different platform? Elden Ring for the Nintendo Switch 2 has not yet received a release date, but with many believing that it will be unveiled at the next Nintendo Direct event, hopefully it is not long left until we find out.
