Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.

Released back in 2006 and taking place a century after the events of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess saw players control Link in an alternate timeline from Wind Waker. As he fights to prevent Hyrule from being engulfed by a corrupted parallel dimension known as the Twilight Realm, he finds himself being assisted by an imp named Midna.

Met with critical acclaim upon launch, Twilight Princess has found itself on the greatest games of all time list, and was even the highest selling The Legend of Zelda title up until the launch of Breath of the Wild in 2017. However, despite a remaster being released in 2016 for the Wii U, fans are still waiting for the day that Twilight Princess arrives on the Nintendo Switch 2.

When Is Zelda: Twillight Princess Coming To NSO?

Over the years, many The Legend of Zelda titles have made their way to the Nintendo Switch console, either as part of its Classics selection, or thanks to newer releases such as Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. However, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has not been graced with a Nintendo Switch appearance. Now, with the Nintendo Switch 2 rising in popularity, fans are hoping that the 2006 entry will make its way to the latest Nintendo handheld, according to a discussion that recently took place over on r/twilightprincess.

"Are we ever going to see Twilight Princess on Switch 2?" One user posted. "I personally love Twilight Princess and with the recent release of GameCube on Switch, I wanted to see what the community thinks about it possibly coming to Switch 2." With over 40 comments, it is sade to say that the rest of the community does indeed have thoughts on the potential addition to Nintendo Switch Online. "It will either come to GameCube NSO or the HD version will get ported," another user commented. "Which will happen? Hard to say. I would prefer the HD version ported or maybe even a 4k release with the same love as Wind Waker HD got on Wii U. Feels like a proper way to celebrate Zelda 40th anniversary as well as the Twilight Princess 20th anniversary." Another agreed, adding, "Said it before, and I'll say it again.

If it comes to Switch 2, I'm buying a Switch 2."

The Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube Library Is Steadily Growing

At the time of writing, the Nintendo Switch Online GameCube library has eight classic games up for grabs. This includes Luigi's Mansion, Soulcaliber II, Wario World, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker to name a few. Could The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess be one of the next entries to be added? It remains to be seen, but there is no denying that sales of both the Nintendo Switch 2 and its Nintendo Switch Online membership will definitely increase if it does.
