Released in 2012, Don't Trust the B---- In Apartment 23 is a beloved sitcom with an ardent fanbase, starring Krysten Ritter before she became a household name. You can watch it now on Disney+, but if you do, you're going to get very confused very fast.

That's because Disney+ has organized the hilarious show in a messy running order that ruins several major plotlines. Here's how to fix their mistake, and why you should.

What Is Don't Trust the B---- In Apartment 23 About?

Don't Trust the B---- In Apartment 23 follows Dreama Walker as naive, Midwestern girl June Colburn, who has moved to the city to follow her dreams. She ends up as the latest roomate of Krysten Ritter's Chloe - an amoral socialite with a long history of conning everyone in her vicinity.

The comedy sees the two roommates slowly change each other for the better, with Chloe coming to value June, and June learning to stand up for herself and becoming more streetwise. The show also stars James Van Der Beek in a parodic depiction of himself - Chloe's celebrity friend who is fighting to keep his star on the rise.

Ray Ford plays James' catty assistant Luther, while the show also has fun with Liza Lapira's stalker Robin, Eric André as June's no-confidence love interest and Michael Blaiklock as June and Chloe's peeping-tom neighbor.

The show is loved for its risqué, boundary-pushing humor and satirical mockery of celebrity culture. That makes it all the sadder that many people will be turned off by Disney+'s mistake...

Disney+ Lists Don't Trust the B---- In Apartment 23 Episodes in the Wrong Order

When ABC initially released the first season of Don't Trust the B---- In Apartment 23, it held back six episodes, seemingly hedging its bets on the new sitcom. When the sitcom was renewed for season 2, ABC inexplicably decided to mix those six episodes into the running order, more or less at random.

As a result, the events of the show are bizarrely out of order. James Van Der Beek's appearance on Dancing with the Stars is in the future, then the past, then the present, June switches back and forth between two different workplaces, and Chloe's relationship with her roommate softens and hardens randomly, undermining the central conceit of the show.

Sadly, Disney+ has used the original broadcast order in its listing of the show, meaning that halfway through it becomes a confusing mess. Here's the fix.

The Correct Order to Watch Don't Trust the B---- In Apartment 23 Episodes

Fans debate the exact right order in which to fit the six excised episodes back into the first season, but the real goal is to remove the six excised episodes from season 2 and put them back in the era they actually belong. For your viewing pleasure, we advise breaking the series up into two 13-episode seasons.

Season One Episode Order

  1. Pilot
  2. Daddy's Girl
  3. Mean Girls (listed by Disney as season 2, episode 10)
  4. Making Rent
  5. The Wedding
  6. The Scarlet Neighbor (listed by Disney as season 2, episode 9)
  7. Whatever It Takes (listed by Disney as season 2, episode 5)
  8. It's Just Sex
  9. The Leak (listed by Disney as season 2, episode 12)
  10. The Parent Trap
  11. Shitagi Nashi
  12. Bar Lies (listed by Disney as season 2, episode 6)
  13. A Weekend in the Hamptons (listed by Disney as season 2, episode 7)

Season Two Episode Order

  1. A Reunion
  2. Love and Monsters
  3. It's a Miracle
  4. Sexy People
  5. Paris
  6. Teddy Troubles
  7. Monday June
  8. Dating Games
  9. Making the Grade/The D
  10. The Seven Year Bitch
  11. Using People
  12. Ocupado
  13. Original Bitch

Watch in the right order and June and Chloe grow closer and closer, James Van Der Beek spins out more and more over his latest reality show, and Luther rightfully takes his place as the show's breakout character.
