Demi Moore is one of the most famous names in Hollywood thanks to the actress' illustrious movie career over the past four decades.

However, it turns out most fans have been pronouncing the movie icon's name the wrong way this entire time.

As highlighted during a clip from the 62-year-old's past appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, there is a definitive way in which fans should say the Ghost star's name.

The comedian noted that many would say 'Deh-mee' like with stars such as singer Demi Lovato.

However, Moore confirmed that she pronounced her name as 'Duh-mee' because it 'works better' with her last name.

The Substance star explained that both she and Lovato's families hail from similar parts of the U.S. and say their names in the same way.

Yet, the Striptease star deliberately pronounces her names differently.

'Demi and I had a great conversation about this because she's from Texas and I'm from New Mexico so our families say our names the same way,' she noted to Fallon and the audience back in 2017, with the clip recently resurfacing.

She continued: 'But we individually both pronounce it differently. It works better with our last names.

'Like, "Deh-mee Lovato" sounds really good. And "Duh-mee" Moore sounds really good."'

Moore is just one of the many stars who have revealed common pronunciation mistakes made with their monikers.

Last year, former child star Raven-Symoné calmly revealed that her last name is actually 'see-mon-ye' instead of 'Si-moan.'

The revelation came as a shock for the many fans who have followed the now 39-year-old actress' career since she was a child star in The Cosby Show in 1989.

Elsewhere, Brendan Fraser insisted 'no one's ever gotten my name right' during a chat with Adam Sandler for Variety.

However, fans have only just discovering that she pronounces her name as 'Duh-mee' instead of 'Deh-mee'

The Substance star explained that both she and Demi Lovato have laughed together about the fact they say their names differently

The actor, 56, explained how to pronounce his name after pointing out that most people pronounce his surname as 'Fray-zsur,' like the TV show Frasier.

He stated: 'It's supposed to be like razor. Like that thing you shave with.'

Similarly, singer Adele revealed that she prefers people to call her 'uh-dale' instead of 'uh-dell,' staying true to her North London roots and accent.

While singer Ariana Grande admitted that pronounced her last name as 'gran-dee' when she was growing up.

In fact, the pronunciation has always been 'gran-dee' in the Grande family, rather than 'gran-day.'

For Euphoria star Zendaya, her name is commonly mispronounced as 'Zen-dye-uh.'

However, the correct way to say her name is 'Zen-day-yuh.'

As one might expect, Timothée Chalamet's name is meant to be said with French pronunciation.

Earlier this month, the actress was delighted to win Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes for her role in The Substance

Though most fans say his name like 'Timothy,' the 29-year-old has confirmed many times that it should be 'Timo-tay.'

Speaking in an interview with Frank Ocean, he revealed that the actual pronunciation of his full name is 'Timo-tay Shala-may.'

Meanwhile, Moore has returned to the spotlight after she celebrated her Golden Globes Best Actress win for her critically-acclaimed performance in body horror film, The Substance.

Following her emotional and heartfelt acceptance speech, the Striptease star partied with daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, who she shares with ex-husband Bruce Willis.
