Daredevil: Born Again season 2's first reactions weigh in on if the new episodes have properly resurrected the Marvel series.

The Disney+ Marvel Cinematic Universe series is a continuation of Netflix's Daredevil, which ran from 2015 through 2018. Daredevil: Born Again season 2, which premieres on March 24, is set to feature the return of several long-running characters including Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio), and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) opposite Krysten Ritter reprising her role as Jessica Jones.

The embargo has now lifted for people who had access to early screeners of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, allowing them to share their spoiler-free thoughts on the new episodes across social media. The majority of them agreed that the season is either consistent with the first or even better. Below, see selected comments about the return of the superhero series:

@manwithoutfear shared that, after watching five of the season's eight episodes, "it is an improvement on S1. It reminds me of the Netflix seasons, with more impactful fights and time for characters to shine. Things are really building in each episode and I can't wait to watch 6-8 tonight."

lauren badillo milici rated the season "5/5 stars," elaborating that "it is so so so cool to have Krysten Ritter back as Jessica Jones (!) but Bullseye [played by Wilson Bethel] cements himself as one of the best comic book villains EVER period and don't even get me started on [Matthew] Lillard's effortlessly creepy Mr. Charles."

Joaquín Teodoro said that the new season "maintains the level of the first and is even darker and more brutal. There's more connection to the MCU, but it still wants to stand on its own (which is fine). Matthew Lillard and Krysten Ritter are great additions (the latter being much needed)."

The MontyVerse called it "bigger, bolder, and more compelling than Season 1 in every respect," saying that it is "relentless" and that "every fight feels visceral, authentic, and justified, with sharp focus on practical stunt work and cinematic storytelling," concluding by stating that "this is the Daredevil fans have been waiting for, one that fully embraces its past while forging something new."

Amon Warmann said that season 2 is "tons of fun" with "some inspired action," ending the post by saying, "its political themes are potent & timely, + the return of old faves has me excited about this corner of the MCU. More please!"

Marvel Tesseract said "DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Season 2 is a far more cohesive season than Season 1. It feels like it’s the product of everyone working toward actualizing a single vision, rather than having one-off episodes less related to the overarching plot. Huge improvement."

Roughly translated from Spanish, @QuidVacuo said "I've already seen the second season of ‘DAREDEVIL BORN AGAIN’ and it's by far my favorite season of ALL! An INTENSE season, full of power, with a tense chess match between Kingpin and DareDevil with the WHOLE city and justice as their board."

Josh Wilding called the season "a brutal, relentless tour-de-force, and a Marvel masterstroke that allows Charlie Cox, [Wilson Bethel, Vincent D'Onofrio,] and the entire cast to shine. The INSANE action ranks among the MCU's best in this largely flawless take on Daredevil's world."

Felipe Rangel weighed in after watching the entire season, calling it "another solid MCU series" and saying that it "takes a huge swing from season 1’s more legal-focused approach to become a superhero action series. Fans of the original show will be very happy with season 2’s changes."

While it remains to be seen how the new season performs with general audiences, the fact that so many early reactions are saying it's an improvement on Daredevil: Born Again season 1 is a good sign. The previous season already performed well, earning a Certified Fresh Rotten Tomatoes score of 87% and a similarly strong 78% score from audiences.

However, there is quite a lot riding on the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again season 2, which is already set to be followed by season 3.

The upcoming season, which is expected to begin filming this year, will see the series breaking the record as the first live-action MCU series to run for more than two seasons on Disney+. Daredevil: Born Again and Loki are so far the only live-action MCU series to have run for two seasons.

If Daredevil: Born Again continues to increase the general level of audience enthusiasm with each new season, it has the potential to break even more MCU records down the road.
