Dandadan has taken the anime world by storm in late 2024, delivering one of the most bizarre and yet successful visual spectacles in fans' recent memories. Based on the manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, Dandadan flew to the top of popularity charts thanks to a viral opening song, amazing art and animation, and a story that perfectly blends humor, action, and romance.
With the first part of the anime concluding with episode #12, airing on December 21, 2024, fans were wondering when the next installment would come. While the news was expected to be released during Jump Festa 2025, it's already making the rounds online. Reliable news account such as @MangaMoguraRE and @SugoiLITE have reveals that the second season of Dandadan will air in June 2025, and there is already a key visual.
This will technically be the second cour of season 1, but anime studios often use the words "cour" and "season" interchangeably.

The Anime Will Pick Up From the Story of Jiji and the Evil Eye
Considering that episode #12 of Dandadan ends abruptly right at the beginning of a new arc, it was obvious that the production decided to split the first season in 2. This decision gives studio Science Saru the time and resources to make sure that the standard of the anime will be as high as what fans have already gotten used to. Considering how much Dandadan has been praised for its artistic direction, it would be a huge blow to see a drop in quality caused by overworking of the staff, as it happens with so many anime.
Luckily, fans will not have to wait too much either, as Dandadan will come back in July 2025, just seven months after the end of the first cour/season. The anime will pick up with the new arc, which focuses on a new character, Jiji, and a new, powerful yokai, the Evil Eye. It will be interesting to see what challenges await Momo and Okarun, both on the battlefield and in their blossoming relationship.
More news about Dandadan season 2 will likely be revealed during Jump Festa 2025, but fans can already rest assured that the big anime revelation of 2024 will come back soon.
