Melanie Griffith Offers One-Word Reaction to Daughter Dakota Johnson's Romance With Role Model
Dakota Johnson is OK.
The Materialists actress packed on the PDA with new boyfriend Role Model while spending time together in Los Angeles. The couple—who were first romantically connected back in December—shared a goodbye kiss before parting ways outside of an office in Los Angeles April 3.
Later that evening, Dakota, 36, and Role Model, 28, continued to pack on the PDA with one another, with Am I OK? actress and the "Sally, When The Wine Runs Out" singer all smiles as they wrapped their arms around one another outside of Little Dom's restaurant in Los Feliz.
Dakota rocked a long-sleeved green cardigan top and dark pants, while Role Model (real name Tucker Pillsbury) donned boot cut jeans, a black T-shirt and a ripped camo baseball hat.
The duo had previously stepped out on several occasions together, including during a date night holding hands in January and when they attended the Los Angeles stop on Paul McCartney’s farewell tour March 28.
Dakota, whose eight-year relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin ended last year, and Role Model's latest outing also comes after her mom Melanie Griffth gave her daughter's budding romance her seal of approval.
In a video posted by gossip blog Deuxmoi April 5, the 68-year-old offered one word to summarize the Fifty Shades of Grey star’s relationship with the singer: “Fabulous.”

As for whether the couple have mom’s official seal of approval, Melanie added, “Of course [they] do.”
As for Role Model, he previously dated Emma Chamberlain from 2020 to 2023. At the time, he cited a desire to return to his home state of Maine as a major factor in their split.
“That was the biggest thing—I just became the most homesick I've been in my life,” he explained on the Zach Sang Show in 2024. “I just wanted to go home and be with my friends and family and have some normalcy. I think that would be very confusing for the other person. Like, ‘Why are you running away from me?’”
