EXCLUSIVE: Comedian Derrick Stroup has landed a Netflix deal for his first full-length special, Nostalgic, a production of Nate Bargatze’s Nateland Entertainment which is set to premiere globally on March 10.

In Nostalgic, Stroup dives into his experience being a ’90s kid in rural Alabama and everything that came along with it, from partying with friends to board games and parental relationships. He taped the special at the Lyric Theatre in Birmingham, AL.

Stroup exec produced alongside Bargatze, Alex Murray, Tim Sarkes, and Adrian Kulp, with Matt Schuler, Jarad Clement, and Jay Hawley producing. Check out a trailer above.

While Stroup is indeed a Waffle House enthusiast, he’s not your average slow-talking Southerner. Known for his detailed stories and over-the-top energy, with the cadence of an angry auctioneer, he’s set to make his third appearance next month on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and will subsequently appear opposite Bargatze in The Breadwinner, TriStar Pictures’ family comedy from director Eric Appel, which releases in theaters on May 29.

Currently on his Mad About Nothing tour, Stroup can frequently be seen on a bill with Bargatze and other national headliners like Bert Kreischer, Larry the Cable Guy, and John Crist. He previously put out a short set as part of Comedy Central Stand-Up Featuring and was named a New Face at Just For Laughs Montreal in 2023.

Stroup is represented by UTA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Schreck Rose Dapello.
