Capcom has been on a legendary run these past few years when it comes to their biggest IPs like the Resident Evil and Monster Hunter franchises, but not all of their beloved brands have gotten the same amount of attention. Even with some upcoming remakes and rumors to look forward to on the horizon, many of Capcom's most promising franchises have been strangely absent when it comes to new releases.

Thankfully, on top of several upcoming remakes for Resident Evil games and a Monster Hunter Wilds expansion in the works, the latest statement of Capcom is a beacon of hope for anyone who feels like their favorite franchise from the studio deserves another chance in the spotlight.

As noted by Solid-Entertainer-39 on Reddit, Capcom has declared in a recent investor presentation that they will be dedicating more resources towards their legacy brands in the form of "sequel remakes, ports", and more moving forward. Even if not all of Capcom's franchises were lucky enough to be included, the list of games, from Devil May Cry and Dead Rising to Dragon's Dogma and Ace Attorney, is fantastic news for fans.

Even if the news comes with the slight caveat that the upcoming projects could also simply result in more media, licensing deals, and arcade machines to help spread awareness and take full advantage of each franchise, the revitalized focus with official releases fits perfectly with what Capcom has said in previous interviews.

Compared to the focus on "only 3 franchises" with Devil May Cry, Ace Attorney, and Mega Man, the list has grown massively since the previous year, not to mention the fact that "Mega Man, Onimusha, and Okami obviously got a new game announced" not long after the previous announcement, sparking hope for even more releases to come.

Combined with the compilation of Capcom's recent leaks and rumors for a range of games like a new Dead Rising, Dragon's Dogma DLC, a Switch 2 port for Devil May Cry 5, and even the seventh long-awaited entry in the Ace Attorney franchise, the official statement could be the first tease of several exciting new project confirmations to come.

While it's unlikely that Capcom would shift all of its resources away from the studio's current bestsellers to take risks with its older brands, Devil May Cry alone has made a significant dent in the sales charts for 2026, showing that there is clearly plenty of love for Capcom's more heavily overlooked franchises.

Even if most of the current release rumors are still speculation for now, it's hard not to be swept away in excitement over the results of the investors' call, but regardless of which projects end up materializing, Capcom fans seem to be in for some fantastic surprises in the coming years that you'll want to keep an eye out for.
