Chris Martin wears a 'life rolls on' cap as he is seen for the first time since ex Dakota Johnson sparked romance rumours with Machine Gun Kelly

Chris Martin flashed a beaming smile and stepped out wearing a 'life rolls on' cap after his ex-girlfriend Dakota Johnson was spotted with with Machine Gun Kelly.

Dakota, 36, who had most recently been dating Tucker 'Rodel Model' Pillsbury, has sparked romance rumours with MGK, 36, following their split.

They were reportedly seen spending time together at mutual friend Taylor Swift's New York apartment, before heading to a nearby hotel for an overnight stay.

After the news broke, Chris, 49, stepped out wearing the accessory which featured the pointed message as he left a meeting with his manager in London. 

Chris and Dakota had been together for eight years before their split last summer, before she went on to date Tucker for eight months.

After splitting from the Deeply Still In Love hitmaker, Dakota was seen exiting a vehicle outside Taylor's apartment before MGK, real name Colson Baker, arrived.

The rapper was escorted in by Dakota's security guard according to Deuxmoi. The Daily Mail reached out to representatives for comment but has not yet received a response. 

Meanwhile, Taylor was out of town during their hangout, according to TMZ.

The pair met at the singer's recent Madison Square Garden wedding to Travis Kelce.

The meet-up came one month after Dakota was reported to have split from Tucker.

The Materialists actress was seven years older than the musician, and they 'ended their relationship a while ago', according to People.

This, after an insider claimed the former couple were 'very much on the same page' and 'it just feels easy' between them. They were first photographed dining together on December 29 in LA.

Dakota made a flirty appearance on the Harmony singer's newly released third studio album Chuck Timely & the Hourglass.

In his drunken track Love I You, Tucker is heard telling Dakota: 'Hey, I think you're perfect' before she shoots back, 'You say that to everyone.'

'Okay, well, is it working?' the tattoo-sleeved millennial replies.

'Yeah,' Dakota. 'But don't tell anyone.' 

Tucker told Rolling Stone in August that the interlude served as him 'publicly admitting the relationship' even though he was hesitant at first: 'I think keeping those things separate is probably good.'

'And then one day [producer Mason Stoops] convinced her, and I was just like, 'Yeah, let's try it.' And it was amazing. Her voice was perfect on it,' the aspiring 'single girl-dad' explained to the mag.

'Obviously, yeah, you know that's gonna lead to discussions online, but also it made the song really special to me, and what a cool cameo to have… She did it in one try, too. It was very impressive.'

MGK was previously in a relationship with actress Megan Fox for four and a half years.

He welcomed a daughter, Saga, in March of last year with Megan

MGK and Megan, 40, had their baby girl just four months after their relationship reportedly ended following claims the actress discovered he had been communicating with other women.

Despite the breakup, a source revealed in late last year that Megan has been impressed by 'how he's stepped up for both her and the baby', fueling whispers that the former fiancés could be finding their way back to each other.

In July, Megan used Instagram again to take a savage swipe at her former partners while firing back at a troll in the comments section of one of her lingerie photoshoot posts.

'This s*** is so unbelievably embarrassing for a 40 year old mom to be posting. 16 year old tumblr s***,' the Instagram user commented.

In response to the comment, Megan savagely replied: 'which one of my exes is this.'
