EXCLUSIVE: Actor-turned-filmmaker Thomas Dekker has found his next project behind the camera in Lost in Jersey, an indie drama to star Bryce Gheisar (Wonder) and Jem Matthews (White Bird), who penned the script.
Set to shoot in Philadelphia and surrounding areas this year, the film is set in 1960s New Jersey and centers on two boys at an all-boys school whose friendship is forged through a shared past with a teacher.
Jillian Shea Spaeder will produce through her company, Spilled Beans, alongside Alyvia Alyn Lind (Wayward, Cry Wolf) and Lauri Levenfeld.
First garnering attention for his work as an actor, going back to the early ’90s, Dekker has appeared in projects like Heroes, My Sister’s Keeper, 2010’s A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Gregg Araki’s Kaboom, among many others. As a filmmaker, his prior credits include the SXSW horror-thriller Jack Goes Home starring Rory Culkin, as well as the indie drama Whore, where he starred alongside Rumer Willis and Ron Jeremy. He is repped by Untitled Entertainment.
Previously seen in Wonder, Clint Eastwood’s The 15:17 to Paris, White Bird, and Nickelodeon’s Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Gheisar is repped by CESD and Schreck Rose Dapello.
Likewise seen in White Bird, Lionsgate’s spin-off prequel to Wonder, Matthews is repped by JAG and Insight.
Lind is repped by CAA and Brecheen Feldman Breimer.
