Ben Fordham will remain at the helm of 2GB breakfast for five more years.

The radio host has inked a new, multi-million dollar deal with the station to continue hosting Ben Fordham Live into the next decade.

Fordham, 49, has come to an agreement with new owners Arthur and Craig Laundy, who began their reign at 2GB in January.

When the Laundys purchased the station from Nine Entertainment, holding onto Fordham was at the top of their priority list.

'I've got a very special relationship with Arthur (Laundy),' Fordham told the Daily Telegraph on Thursday.

'So naturally you don't want to let someone like that down. Looking into his eyes I could tell he didn't want me to go.'

While neither Fordham nor 2GB have disclosed the exact figure he will be paid, Fordham hinted it will be more than his previous contract.

The radio stalwart was paid $1.5 million per year under the terms of his previous agreement.

'It would be out of character for me to take a pay cut,' Fordham said.

The radio star has been a fixture at 2GB for over 16 years, starting on the Drive shift in 2010 before moving over to the breakfast slot in 2020.

He has led the station to victory, with 2GB dominating the Sydney breakfast ratings.

Last month's ratings again saw Ben Fordham Live garner the largest market, with a 14.8 per cent share.

Fordham told the Daily Telegraph that he will not be ready to retire any time soon and 'loves his job'.

'I knew that I would miss this job about five minutes after finishing it,' he told the publication.

'Yes it's full on and it's unrelenting and it's all consuming, but I also bloody love it.'

The radio legend has kept a foothold in a troubled industry, which saw titans such as Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson felled earlier this year.

ARN cancelled KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show in June.

On Thursday, it was announced that ARN has axed popular drive time duo Will McMahon and Woody Whitelaw from its 2027 line-up.

ARN chief content officer Kerri Elstub sent an email to staff on Thursday confirming the comedy duo would be departing the station after eight years at the network.
