EXCLUSIVE: Canadian media and entertainment company, Bell Media, has invested in Daylight Media Company and podcast network, QCode.

The investment, made through Bell Ventures, Bell’s Corporate Venture Capital arm, includes a commercial partnership that will see the two companies team on original content development, as well as marketing and distribution initiatives. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Under its QCode banner, Daylight established itself as a premium fiction podcast studio, producing scripted audio series featuring A-list talent including Rami Malek, Demi Moore, Olivia Wilde, and Chris Pine.

Daylight President, Ben Curtis says of the partnership, “We just shook hands outside the rink. Next stop, the cottage.”

Bell Media counts Canada’s leading media brands with a roster of premium entertainment for domestic and foreign markets including HBO’s hit series Heated Rivalry, Shoresy, Canada’s Drag Race, and Sullivan’s Crossing.

The investment comes as Daylight continues its rapid expansion in the creator economy, offering technology support that allows talent to focus on content while the company handles business ops, marketing, and monetization.

“Bell Media is laser focused on leveraging and developing original IP that resonates with global audiences. This partnership furthers that goal,” said Sean Cohan, President, Bell Media. “We look forward to leaning into QCode’s creative energy to tell compelling stories across audio, video, and digital platforms.”
