AWE Network has drawn a line in the sand for holders still sitting on legacy $STPT tokens. The on-chain migration window will slam shut on September 21, 2026, giving remaining holders roughly one month to convert their tokens before they become permanently ineligible for the swap.
The good news: almost nobody is left behind. Over 99% of the roughly 1.94 billion token supply has already migrated from $STPT to $AWE at a clean 1:1 ratio. The less good news: if you’re part of that remaining fraction and miss the deadline, your tokens are effectively stuck in limbo.
How the migration works and what happens after
The token swap has been live since May 2025, when STP Network rebranded itself as AWE Network. Holders have had more than a year to complete the conversion through either the project’s official swap portal or supported centralized exchanges.
The process itself is straightforward. One $STPT converts to exactly one $AWE, no slippage, no fees beyond standard gas costs. The total token supply remains unchanged at approximately 1.94 billion tokens throughout the migration.
Most major centralized exchanges, including Binance and Bitget, handled bulk conversions for their users earlier in the migration timeline, which explains how the completion rate climbed so high so quickly. Minor variances remain across some smaller platforms, but the heavy lifting was done months ago.
What happens to unclaimed $AWE tokens after the September 21 cutoff is where things get interesting. According to the announcement, any tokens that remain unconverted will be subject to a community governance vote. That means the AWE Network’s token holders will collectively decide the fate of the leftover supply, whether it gets burned, redistributed, or locked away.
Why this rebrand matters beyond the ticker change
AWE Network’s pivot from STP Network represents a broader strategic shift toward AI infrastructure, specifically developing infrastructure for Autonomous Worlds designed for AI agents and decentralized collaboration. The transition also moved the governance token from the Ethereum blockchain to the Base network.
What remaining holders need to do
If you’re holding $STPT in a self-custody wallet, the migration requires manual action through AWE Network’s official swap portal. Connect your wallet, approve the transaction, and your $STPT converts to $AWE on a 1:1 basis.
For holders on centralized exchanges, the situation varies. Most major platforms completed automatic conversions earlier in the migration window, but it’s worth checking your balances and confirming your exchange has made the swap. If your exchange hasn’t supported the migration, you’ll need to withdraw your $STPT to a compatible wallet and use the on-chain portal directly.
The one thing you cannot do is wait until September 22. The announcement makes it unambiguous: post-deadline, unconverted $STPT tokens will not be eligible for exchange. There is no extension clause, no late-fee workaround. The window closes and stays closed.
